1. Textual Analysis of the Opening Credits

2.  Landscapes, mountains, lakes, forest, a car driving alone on the road.
Yellow colour car, connotes –happiness, neutral, energy, sunshine.
 The credits are scrolling from down screen
upwards fast.
 The further the car travels the snowier and higher the landscape views
– in the middle of nowhere, no neighbours, not an easy escape.

3.  Wide shot moving forward – supports the idea of the
car moving, the audience are on the same journey.
 The wide shot rotates – could suggest an unsuspected
events to come?
 High angle shot – indicates status of the victims, the
shot rotates the direction in which the car is going.
 Another wide shot behind the car, wide shot parallel to
the car.

4.  The duration of the landscape shots are long –
connotes mysterious, strange.
 A jump shot from one to another.
 The credits scroll upward in blue – colour connotes
cold, depth.

5.  Only non-diegetic music – dramatic irony/ the
characters don’t hear the horror style music and don’t
know what they are getting into.
 Orchestral trumpets – low notes, connotes danger and
darkness.
 High pitched noises, mysterious, screams,
supernatural.
