York, and heavily influenced by artists such
as Diana Ross and MC Lyte.
• She was part of a band, formed by Biggie
Smalls in 1994 called Junior M.A.F.I.A. who
were a successful band, however only lasted a
few years.
• Now 40 years old she released her first album over 15 years
ago, in 1996 “Hardcore”.
• Lil Kim is an American female artist making
rap/hip hop music as well as writing and
producing music.

• Lil Kim Achieved her star image through her
controversial video’s outfits and lyrics.
• Calling herself ‘Queen Bee’, she gives off a sassy and
fierce persona, making women feel empowered and
dominant, through her music.
• With the record company, Recording Industry
Association of America, she released her first album
through a purely hip hop style.
5. Over The Years

and Puff Daddy roaming around
abandoned underground
stations and school halls.
• One her more recent songs,
Came back for you (2003), we
see a more sophisticated Kim.
Although staying true to her
gangsta, ghetto style, she now
shows a more glitzy, expensive

featuring on Tiffany

• This video hows a more mature Ki, however
she still shows off her dancing as well as gives
off a glamorous and fierce image.

the record company, the artist will be
given a short time to prove their
success, before they are taken on.

which has come from
