Germany was stripped of a great amount of territory and was forced to pay a huge sum of money for reparations.
In January 1933, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi’s came to power.
In 1939, Germany had almost completely breached “The Treaty of Versailles.”
On September 1st, 1939 war was declared on Germany by France and Britain.

The Attack On Pearl Harbor December 7th, 1941 U.S. had maintained neutrality until this period. However, the U.S. did freeze assets/relations with Germany, Italy, and Japan. Pearl Harbor, a navy base, in Hawaii was attacked by Japanese fighter planes. The United States and Britain declare war on Japan.
D-Day D-Day occurred on June 6, 1944  U.S. invaded Normandy, France and began journey to stop the German army General Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” Click here for a visual video on D-Day.
Atomic Bombs August 6, 1945 Atomic Bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan by the U.S. 66,000 killed instantly, 69,000 injured -------------------------------- August 9, 1945 Atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan by the U.S. Leveled half of the city Population dropped from 422,000 to 383,000 Link to more info: here
V-J Day/End of War August 14th, 1945 Japan is the last to surrender to the U.S. Surrender documents finally signed aboard the deck of the American battleship USS Missouri on September 2, 1945, ending the war.
