What you must consider …
• Online activity can be seen by
more people than you realise.
• You DO NOT control your
online ‘footprint’.
• Your friends may not always
be your friends.
• Anyone can find out what you
did last summer!
• Employers are checking you
out online BEFORE they ask
you for an Interview!

What can I do?
• Look closely at your Privacy
settings on EACH network
website.
• Read the T&Cs before you
sign up to any website!
• Consider having a separate
profile on the networks for
private and professional
activities.

What else can I do?
Don’t be silly; don’t
write anything that
will come back and
haunt you in 2, 5, 10
years time!
If in doubt, don’t do it!

… and finally?
• What your Parents told you … that also apply to
Social Media:
• How would you like it if someone did that to you?
• If you can’t say anything good about someone, don’t
say it all.
• Everything in moderation.
• Think before you speak.
• Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
