is a result of my Life experiences so far.
My purpose
of writing this book will be achieved, if,
It makes you think about few simple aspects of life….
It inspires you ….
It is helpful, when things do not go your way……
I am not really suggesting miracle steps, which will turn
around our lives, But I have made an honest attempt to
put few thoughts before you. The changes in our lives will
beginwithus.

The Golden Rules
# Peace of Mind: If you
are at peace with
yourself, you are at
peace with the world.
Happiness is within, and
notoutsideyou.
# Mind Matters: Everything in life boils down to
your Mind, the ultimate source of your Peace and
Happiness. It's all in the mind. You and your mind
will decide whether you are happy or not. All
weathers of life are not same, But if you decide,
Theywillbesame.
# Perception: Your happiness
boils down to how you see the
world and people around you.
Thewayyouperceivethings
will decide your mood for the Day. The way you
chooseyourresponses,insteadofreactions.
# Contentment: Be content with what God has
offered you to live with. It is more than enough
comparedtowhatyouactuallyrequire.
Half Empty Half Filled
# Karma & responsibility: Be responsible for your
action and do Karma. You only have choice to
perform, results will be decided by almighty.
Things may go in your favor or may not go. But
don't give up. Keep trying and live your life the way
youwanttolive.
Engage: Engage your mind with constructive &
fruitful activities, to avoid negative thoughts &
remaincheerful.
# Changeisinevitable:Goodorbadmomentswill
come and go. It will not stay forever. Cherish the
goodmomentsandbestrongduringtoughtimes.
# You have a choice: You always have a choice to
responsesoflife.ChooseHappiness,love&peace.
# Happiness always comes

Happiness is not about
possessing cars, homes,
wealth. It always comes in
small packages, making
some one smile, helping
someone, playing with kids,
talking to elders, loving them
respecting them. It can be a
small bicycle ride or a 10
minuteswim.
# Limited Expectations: Have limited
expectations, because there is no end to rat race.
Take time to pause and enjoy what you already
possess. Do not leave any regret for tomorrow.
Fulfillyourdreamstoday.
# Family: Give love and
timetoyourFamily.
# Qualitylife:GoforQuality,
not Quantity. It doesn't
matter how many holidays
you went on. What really
matters is how well you have
enjoyed them. You can enjoy
your vacation even in your
beautifulhome.
# Giving: If you want to receive something in life,
start giving. Give Love, Peace and Happiness to
others. They will be returned to you, in some form
or the other. Give surprises to people, and put a
smileontheirface.Theylovesurprises.
# Sharing: Share things that
you can. Share knowledge. It
will multiply. Give away things
that you do not need. Remove
clutter from your home, mind
andLife.
# Letting Go: Let go of things which you can not
hold on to, or things which are bothering you and
eating your mind. You will feel very relieved. It is
difficult,buttryit.
# Forgive: Forgive yourself and others. Don't be
so serious about your life, 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week. Relax and have fun. Everything is
momentary.Itwillend,eventually.
# Improve : Person who disturbs you regularly, is
an immediate signal for you to improve the
situationwiththatperson.
# Detachment: Do not get very attached to any
thing or person. If that thing does not exist
tomorrow, you should be able to survive without
it.Lovethem,likethem,butonlytoanextent.
# Withdrawal: Withdraw, if you think that your
presence is not required or it's not worth it, from
anysituationorfromthelifeofanyperson.
# Humility: Always be humble and stick to your
roots.
# Count your Blessings: Always, always, always
count your blessings. There are people who are
lessfortunate,thenyouinthisworld.
# Positive: Being positive throughout adversity is
the only option left with us. So please be positive.
Itwilltakeyouawayfromdistressandmoveyouto
betterdirection.
# Living each Moment: Try to live each and every
moment of your life. Be present physically and
mentally, wherever you are and whatever activity
you are doing. Listen with all your attention, if you
are listening to someone. Focus 100%, if you are
performing a task. There will be good moments,
badmomentsandalso,attimes,boringmoments.
Just live through the experience. Life is short.
Make mostofit.
# Flexibility: Always remain flexible under all
circumstances. If things do not go your way, don't
get frustrated. Be flexible and wise enough to
accept the sudden change and respond to it with a
calmmind.
# Go With the Flow: Go with the flow when
required. Not everything in life happens as per
your wish list. In the end everything will stabilize,
but until that time, have patience to go with the
flowandwaitforyourtimetocome.
# Keep things simple: Keep things simple in life,
because there are already so many complications.
Don'taddanymoretothelist.
# Smile : Keep smiling even
u n d e r t h e w o r s t
circumstances. It will help
you fight through troubled
times.
# Knowledge: Continuous learning and adding
knowledge in your day today life is essential for
growth. This applies to both personal and
professionallife.
# Communication: Always keep your
communications open. Be it in your office or
home. Speak up. Ask questions, if you have
problems. Praise people. Don't fall short of words
and appreciation, when it comes to praising
people.
# Praise: Praise the things and people around
you. There are many good things around us, which
weneverappreciate.ItsFree,Butdon'tfakeit.
# Nature: Stay close to the nature and greenery. It
calmsyourmindand givesyou energy.Alwaysstay
closetothenature.
# Listen: Listen to people, who want you to listen.
Who wants your love, praise, motivation and
attention.
# Focus: Pay attention to the work you do, Focus
hard,beitplay,work,relationshiporanything.
# Proactive: Be proactive. Reach out to people.
Face your fears. Come out, be expressive. It's one
lifeandonechance.
# Looking within for all the answers: All your
quest, queries are answered within you. You do
not need, to go to any outside places, or visit
temples. You know, what is best for you and you
have a right to select the best for yourself. Look
within.
# Skills: Learning new skills in your life adds
feathers to your success, Happiness and well
being.
# Silence : Silence Is very powerful. Spend some
quiet moments with yourself, during the day. It
purifiesyourthoughtprocess.
# Give surprises: Give surprises to people and
yourself.
# Playing with kids: Play
with kids whenever you find
time.
# Creative: Becreativetobreakfromroutine.
# Music: It's a big
healing factor in our life.
If you can play music,
evenbetter.
# Reading: Occupying your
mind is an important activity.
Please do the same, instead
of thinking negative thoughts
andthinkingabout thingsyou
cannot change. Read good
books and surround yourself
with a positive environment
andpositivepeople.
# Writing: Writing down your thoughts on paper
isagoodwayofde-stressing.
# Sleep/ Rest: 7 to 8 hrs a
Day. Take enough breaks if
youareworkinglonghours.
# Colors: Use many colors
in your life, be it cloths,
home, office. It brings
energy and uplifts your
mood.
# Playing/ Exercise:45
Minutes a day, please
invest. Walk/ Run/ Jog/
Skipping/ Weights /
Swimming/sports.
Wishingyouallthebestforyourlife.

share with you a few basic good
thoughts, about living our day today
lives & make our lives peaceful. If

  • 2. This book is a result of my Life experiences so far. My purpose of writing this book will be achieved, if, It makes you think about few simple aspects of life…. It inspires you …. It is helpful, when things do not go your way…… I am not really suggesting miracle steps, which will turn around our lives, But I have made an honest attempt to put few thoughts before you. The changes in our lives will beginwithus. Dedicated to my Loving sister Bijal & my Family. Hiren Mehta The Golden Rules # Peace of Mind: If you are at peace with yourself, you are at peace with the world. Happiness is within, and notoutsideyou. # Mind Matters: Everything in life boils down to your Mind, the ultimate source of your Peace and Happiness. It's all in the mind. You and your mind will decide whether you are happy or not. All weathers of life are not same, But if you decide, Theywillbesame. # Perception: Your happiness boils down to how you see the world and people around you. Thewayyouperceivethings will decide your mood for the Day. The way you chooseyourresponses,insteadofreactions. # Contentment: Be content with what God has offered you to live with. It is more than enough comparedtowhatyouactuallyrequire. Half Empty Half Filled
  • 3. # Karma & responsibility: Be responsible for your action and do Karma. You only have choice to perform, results will be decided by almighty. Things may go in your favor or may not go. But don't give up. Keep trying and live your life the way youwanttolive. Engage: Engage your mind with constructive & fruitful activities, to avoid negative thoughts & remaincheerful. # Changeisinevitable:Goodorbadmomentswill come and go. It will not stay forever. Cherish the goodmomentsandbestrongduringtoughtimes. # You have a choice: You always have a choice to responsesoflife.ChooseHappiness,love&peace. # Happiness always comes i n s m a l l p a c k a g e s : Happiness is not about possessing cars, homes, wealth. It always comes in small packages, making some one smile, helping someone, playing with kids, talking to elders, loving them respecting them. It can be a small bicycle ride or a 10 minuteswim. # Limited Expectations: Have limited expectations, because there is no end to rat race. Take time to pause and enjoy what you already possess. Do not leave any regret for tomorrow. Fulfillyourdreamstoday. # Family: Give love and timetoyourFamily. # Qualitylife:GoforQuality, not Quantity. It doesn't matter how many holidays you went on. What really matters is how well you have enjoyed them. You can enjoy your vacation even in your beautifulhome. # Giving: If you want to receive something in life, start giving. Give Love, Peace and Happiness to others. They will be returned to you, in some form or the other. Give surprises to people, and put a smileontheirface.Theylovesurprises.
  • 4. # Sharing: Share things that you can. Share knowledge. It will multiply. Give away things that you do not need. Remove clutter from your home, mind andLife. # Letting Go: Let go of things which you can not hold on to, or things which are bothering you and eating your mind. You will feel very relieved. It is difficult,buttryit. # Forgive: Forgive yourself and others. Don't be so serious about your life, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Relax and have fun. Everything is momentary.Itwillend,eventually. # Improve : Person who disturbs you regularly, is an immediate signal for you to improve the situationwiththatperson. # Detachment: Do not get very attached to any thing or person. If that thing does not exist tomorrow, you should be able to survive without it.Lovethem,likethem,butonlytoanextent. # Withdrawal: Withdraw, if you think that your presence is not required or it's not worth it, from anysituationorfromthelifeofanyperson. # Humility: Always be humble and stick to your roots. # Count your Blessings: Always, always, always count your blessings. There are people who are lessfortunate,thenyouinthisworld. # Positive: Being positive throughout adversity is the only option left with us. So please be positive. Itwilltakeyouawayfromdistressandmoveyouto betterdirection. # Living each Moment: Try to live each and every moment of your life. Be present physically and mentally, wherever you are and whatever activity you are doing. Listen with all your attention, if you are listening to someone. Focus 100%, if you are performing a task. There will be good moments, badmomentsandalso,attimes,boringmoments. Just live through the experience. Life is short. Make mostofit.
  • 5. # Flexibility: Always remain flexible under all circumstances. If things do not go your way, don't get frustrated. Be flexible and wise enough to accept the sudden change and respond to it with a calmmind. # Go With the Flow: Go with the flow when required. Not everything in life happens as per your wish list. In the end everything will stabilize, but until that time, have patience to go with the flowandwaitforyourtimetocome. # Keep things simple: Keep things simple in life, because there are already so many complications. Don'taddanymoretothelist. # Smile : Keep smiling even u n d e r t h e w o r s t circumstances. It will help you fight through troubled times. # Knowledge: Continuous learning and adding knowledge in your day today life is essential for growth. This applies to both personal and professionallife. # Communication: Always keep your communications open. Be it in your office or home. Speak up. Ask questions, if you have problems. Praise people. Don't fall short of words and appreciation, when it comes to praising people. # Praise: Praise the things and people around you. There are many good things around us, which weneverappreciate.ItsFree,Butdon'tfakeit. # Nature: Stay close to the nature and greenery. It calmsyourmindand givesyou energy.Alwaysstay closetothenature. # Listen: Listen to people, who want you to listen. Who wants your love, praise, motivation and attention.
  • 6. # Focus: Pay attention to the work you do, Focus hard,beitplay,work,relationshiporanything. # Proactive: Be proactive. Reach out to people. Face your fears. Come out, be expressive. It's one lifeandonechance. # Looking within for all the answers: All your quest, queries are answered within you. You do not need, to go to any outside places, or visit temples. You know, what is best for you and you have a right to select the best for yourself. Look within. # Skills: Learning new skills in your life adds feathers to your success, Happiness and well being. # Silence : Silence Is very powerful. Spend some quiet moments with yourself, during the day. It purifiesyourthoughtprocess. # Give surprises: Give surprises to people and yourself. # Playing with kids: Play with kids whenever you find time. # Creative: Becreativetobreakfromroutine. # Music: It's a big healing factor in our life. If you can play music, evenbetter. # Reading: Occupying your mind is an important activity. Please do the same, instead of thinking negative thoughts andthinkingabout thingsyou cannot change. Read good books and surround yourself with a positive environment andpositivepeople.
  • 7. # Writing: Writing down your thoughts on paper isagoodwayofde-stressing. # Sleep/ Rest: 7 to 8 hrs a Day. Take enough breaks if youareworkinglonghours. # Colors: Use many colors in your life, be it cloths, home, office. It brings energy and uplifts your mood. # Playing/ Exercise:45 Minutes a day, please invest. Walk/ Run/ Jog/ Skipping/ Weights / Swimming/sports. Wishingyouallthebestforyourlife. I have made a humble attempt to share with you a few basic good thoughts, about living our day today lives & make our lives peaceful.
