and Medical Terminology
 Function : To coordinate and control functions of the body. The
system receives sensory input, makes decisions and the orders
body responses.
 Organs: Brain, nerves and spinal cord
 According to dictionary.com, Medical terminology is language
that is used to accurately describe the human body and
associated components, conditions, processes and process in
a science-based manner.
 Medical Terminology contains four parts : word
root, prefix, combing vowel and suffix

For Example: -ITIS = Inflammation
carditis= meaning inflammation of the heart

 Monoplegia= paralysis of the limb

 Dys- = abnormal, difficult ( prefix)

epileptic seizure that lasts on lasts only few seconds to half a
minute. It is characterized by loss of awareness and an
absence of activity.
 - Phasia and – plegia are two suffixes that are used in
describing the signs and symptoms of this disease.
