1. Question 4 –
We used several pieces of hardware as well as software including, an IPhone, Slide
share, Microsoft Word, Adobe Premier, Photoshop, Canon video camera and much
more. All the technology helped me produce my ancillaries and most importantly my
music video. I would not of produced the work if it wasn’t for the hardware and
software which was available to me and my work group.
There was a lot of success when using both hardware and software for example the
Adobe Premiere software allowed me to edit my video easily and quickly producing a
good looking and professionally looking final product. Another success we had with
hardware was the video camera we used to film the actor miming and also the
scenes where several actors pre drank for the night ahead. The reason why we had
success with this is because of the quality it produced. We used a Canon Handycam
which was more than successful when filming the scenes. Slide share allowed me to
upload my work to Blogger efficiently and quickly making it easier for all to view my
work. The final success was the use of Photoshop which I produced my ancillaries on
for example my CD covers and my poster. I used the same tools which were easy to
pick up and also the same colours/font to make my product synergy making a
consistent product throughout.
The limitations I had with the software and hardware stopped us from fulfilling our
potential when making our final product. For example, when filming in the club the
quality of the footage was grainy and looked very tacky. This was because we only
used an IPhone due to the club not giving us full permission to film with the Canon
Handycam. Another limitation when using software was how complex some of the
programs were for example Adobe Premiere. We had to be shown how to use Adobe
Premiere by an expert which took up valuable time however paid off in the long run
when producing the final product.
Almost every day we use digital technology for example hardware and software to
produce our work. If this was not available to us on a daily basis our work would not
be finished and would definitely not be up to the standard it is now. This is an
example of technological convergence. We researched our information by producing
questionnaires using Word. We recorded the footage using camera’s and phones, we
also edited the music video on the computer which distributes as well as presents my
work for others to see.
