President Kennedy was in
Dallas, Texas.
He was there campaigning for his next
election.

Kennedy had not annouced he was going
to run for president, but everyone knew
he would run.
He was in the car with his wife, and
governor of Texas, John B. Connally and
Mrs.Connally.
5. The Assassination
A huge parade was being held in Dallas.
President Kennedy was riding in open
top car with his wife and governor of
Texas John B. Connally and Mrs.
Connally.

There were a lot of people waiting too see
President Kennedy.
The feeling in the air was happy and
exciting.
7. The Assassination
Suddenly as the Prseident’s travled
through the parade, 3 shots rang out.
People believe that the shots came from
the Texas Book Depository on the 6th
floor.
8. After The Assassination
Within hours the Dallas Police
Department captured Lee Harvey
Oswald.
He was charged for the assassination of
John F. Kennedy.
9. After The Assassination
Lee Harvey Oswald was on the 6th story
of the library.
Some people say that is where he shot
President Kennedy.
10. After The Assassination
President Kennedy died at 1:00 Central
time, and 2:00 Eastern time.
President Kennedy died on November 22,
1963.

After the assassination the country was
devistated, because most people loved
Kennedy.
Walter Cronkite annouced that President
Kennedy was shot and died. He annouced
this in The CBS room, in New York.
12. Other Theories
James Leon Simmons, Richard C. Dodd and Sam
H. Holland were on the overpass watching the
parade when they heard 3 shots as the car went
near the overpass.
They ran to where they heard the shot. They said
there was smoke and muddy footprints but nobody
was there.
This area is now called the grassy knole.
13. Other Theories
Some people believe that Lee Harvey
Oswald had a sidekick to help kill John F.
Kennedy.
There are theories that Lee Harvey
Oswald’s sidekick was in the grassy
knole.
14. Interviewing
I interviewed my grandmother to see if she
remembered anything. She remembered when she
worked at National Life, and they sent everyone
home. “It was a very sad day” she said. “He was a
very good president. Kennedy was a very resepcted
president.”
