Compelling marketing content is equally about good editing as much as it is about good writing. So toss those inhibitions aside, and let your fingers fly on the keyboard. You can don the editor’s hat when you’re done writing. Here are 11 tips to help you edit in minutes.

take a step back.
You are now ready to revisit your content as an editor.
6. 1 Save your doc in a convenient location with an
updated name to reflect the latest changes.
7. 2 Set the language for your doc; Choose a legible
font with an appropriate size to aid reading.

in either view: Final or Final Showing Mark up.3
9. Use the Find and Replace tool to identify and eliminate
all instances of double spacing between words.4
10. Run spell check to fix any red/green squiggles. But
remember it won’t spot misspellings that form another
word.

this will help you correct any errors pronto.

• Randomly capitalised words within sentences
• Proper nouns in lower case
• Use of it’s vs. its
• Commonly misspelled words
Look out for the following errors:7a

always revisit it later. Don’t forget to highlight it.8
15. Ensure that all hyperlinks placed within the text are
functional and highlighted.9
16. Check for any footnotes/endnotes cited within the text.10

with the same care, for anything that you might
have missed.
