From this I can identify that my main age group is teenagers. I need to make
sure that my video Is up to date with current trends and styles in order the
hit my target age group of teenagers
25-39 years 15-24 years 40-57 years
GENDER DEMOGRAPHICS
The gender demographics are fairly similar, with just a few more males
then females. This suggests that I need to tailor my music video, and
other aspects of my project, to suit both genders
This shows the % of
people that listen to my
specific genre across
the UK.
On the whole, my target audience would be aged 15-25 however
more directed to males. This is mainly because of the relation of the
gender of the artist and the audience. As William is a male artist, a
male audience would more likely invest in him because they feel like
they are able to relate to him, not only in terms of his gender but his
style as well and being able to identify with him.
My target audience would have an eager interest of music, in which
they are constantly up to date with the newest releases of music, by
researching them on social networks or watching music channels.
They would also idolise with the artist in terms of his style and
characteristics portrayed in the music video. Their constant research
on social networking would ensure they could be directly contacted
by the artist and label with information such as the artists newest
releases, tour dates, signings and so on. The core audience prefers
genres such as Hip Hop, Rap and Alternative R&B, they would also
be interested in new sub genres that combine conventions of these
types of genres.
In terms of consuming my artist's music they would likely download it
on Itunes or most interestingly buy it on Vinyl. Currently vinyl has
made a comeback and is becoming increasingly popular with
teenagers.
