Stephanie D. Vance, the “Advocacy Guru” of Advocacy Associates, LLC is author of Government by the People: How to
Communicate with Congress, the fabjob.com guide, Get a Job on Capitol Hill, Citizens in Action and the recently released
Advocacy Manual: A Practitioner’s Guide. She has over 20 years of experience in Congressional affairs, having worked in a
prominent DC law firm, lobbied for National Public Radio and worked in various Congressional offices, holding positions as

While promoting the message "Read a zillion books", Jerry Pallotta excites readers with icky bugs and chocolate math. Jerry
writes for the classroom. His curriculum-based books focus on reading, writing, math, and science, with just the right dose of

            Carla Killough McClafferty grew up in the small farming community of Tomberlin, Arkansas, where her parents farmed rice and
            soybeans. Many long, lazy days of her childhood were spent under the outstretched arms of a giant pecan tree. Her elementary
            school didn't have a library, using instead bookshelves under the windows that filled one wall of the classroom. She says, "To this

           Terri Kirk is the librarian at Reidland High School in Paducah, Kentucky and has been a high school librarian for 18 years.
           Ms. Kirk is the past president of the Kentucky School Media Association and the Kentucky Library Association. She served as
           American Association of School Libraries (AALS) Division Councilor on the ALA Council before being elected to the Executive

Award winning author, Helen Hemphill … Hailed as “a strong new voice in children’s literature” by Kirkus Reviews, Helen
Hemphill grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas and now lives with her family in Nashville, Tennessee and Austin, Texas. Her novel Long
Gone Daddy won the Teddy Award for young adult fiction from the Writers’ League of Texas and was named to the New York
Public Library’s Books for the Teen Age. In 2007, her second novel, Runaround, was named a Top Ten Youth Romance by

            Candie Moonshower’s hands-on workshops and author talks are tailored to age-appropriate grade levels and cover material
            geared toward brainstorming ideas, historical research/writing and journaling. Her recent award-winning novel, THE LEGEND OF
            ZOEY, is an historical novel based in West Tennessee. Zoey, a feisty, funny thirteen-year-old, leaves home for a boring field trip to
            West Tennessee and Reelfoot Lake, only to find herself on the ride of her life as she is thrust back in time to the winter of 1811 and

                   Leigh Anne W. Hoover, a longtime Kingsport resident, and children’s author. Hoover is the author of the well-known
                   children’s book The Santa Train Tradition and is the immediate past president of the Literacy Council of Kingsport. Her new
                   book Festus and His Fun Fest Favorites commemorates the 30th year of Fun Fest.
