Matter ,[object Object],- Cell phone is one of an example of matter because matter means anything that has mass and volume, cell phone also has its mass and its volume.

Not matter ,[object Object],- Music does not take any volume as well it does not have mass. Music is expressing one’s thoughts which means it is not a matter.

Pure substance ,[object Object],Ex) aluminum foil - The reason why aluminum foil is pure substance is because it only contains one kind of substance which is pure substance’s definition.

Element ,[object Object],Ex) silver, neon, copper - Element means substances that cannot be separated into simpler. Gold that I chose is also a substance that cannot be separated into simpler form which means it’s a pure substance.

compound ,[object Object],- Table salt is an example of compound because table salt is It is a combination of sodium and chloride Ex) sugar, salt

mixtures ,[object Object],- Since Coke is a mixture of water, sugar, flavorings, and carbon dioxide gas, coke is an example of mixture.

Heterogeneous mixtures ,[object Object],Ex) sugar, sandy water, pizza - Pizza is categorized under heterogeneous mixture because pizza is very well distinguishable due to its large size of ingredients. Since we can see the mixtures, pizza is heterogeneous mixture.

Homogenous mixtures ,[object Object],Ex) blood, beverage. Wine, oil + alcohol - chocolate milk is an example of matter because in this milk, lots of things are mixed together such as fructose, milk, and a little amount of chocolate. However, those ingredients are not possibly seen through human eyes. Thus, chocolate milk is an example of matter.

mass ,[object Object],- As you can see, two objects are on the balance beam and tilted to one side. By this, we can know their mass are different.

volume ,[object Object],- There would be no volume at all if there was no doll inside the wood building. Since the doll is inside, we can say the building has volume.

density ,[object Object],- A ship floating on water is an example of density because although it is uses buoyancy, it also uses density to float.

Viscosity ,[object Object],I chose glue to illustrate viscosity because viscosity is all about how thick liquid is. However, glue is not a liquid but glue itself which depends on viscosity

state ,[object Object],- Steam that’s shown in the picture is one of an example of state because it is gaseous state. Also, an ice cube is solidified state and water is liquid state. An ice cube is frozen and water can flow anywhere easily.

conductivity ,[object Object],- I chose toaster to explain conductivity because toaster conduct heat and bakes the bread.

Physical changes ,[object Object],Even though I ripped tissues, only the form changed, its substance didn’t change. Same as tissue, the paper is crumpled but its substance itself didn’t change. Therefore, it is physical change.

Chemical changes 1 ,[object Object],- Paper’s ashes is chemical change because they cannot be brought back to their original forms after the change has taken place.

Chemical change 2 - Popcorn is another example of chemical change because like the first example, it cannot be brought back to their original forms after putting into the microwave oven.
