Hi, I’m JJ and I wanna show you two iPhone apps: TweetFrame and NextSydneyFerry.
The NextSydneyFerry app is based on the NextSydneyFerry.com site, which I made earlier in the year,
which is a simplified ferry timetable: it shows you the next ferry to depart from Circular Quay
for the ferry service you select. It’s free in the App store.
It uses Yahoo YQL to query the data from SydneyFerries.info site.
An interesting titbit: last month I got more app downloads then users of the web app... (doesn’t mean that much anyway)

I got XCode installed, which I opened once or twice, but it was real stumbling block, slow progress.

This is the Titanium Mobile app you interact with.
It handles the iPhone and Android settings, starts up the simulators,
you can send your app to your iPhone, and package your app for distribution through the App store

Some things to keep in mind.
It’s still beta, a 0.7 version, some things in their API may still change
You still need a Mac though, with XCode and the iPhone SDK installed, which are all free.
For Android you need to install that free SDK too.
But to get your app on your iPhone for testing and into the App store,
you still need to pay for the Apple iPhone Developer Program, a 119$ Australian, per year.
And don’t expect to go build fancy 3D and AR apps just yet.
But still hope you’re inspired to try it out yourself?
