[Notes]
・ There may be cases that KX-VC300/600 cannot communicate with the non-Panasonic
video conferencing system, even if it corresponds with the above specification.
・ If the users’ system is operated over H.323, the setting needs to be changed so it can
communicate over SIP as well.
・ The maximum bandwidth setting by the user will become its system IP bit rate. (The IP bit
rate is a rate left after subtracting the overhead such as the Ethernet Header from its
network bandwidth.)
・ The AV-QoS feature supported during conferences between KX-VC300/600 units will not
be supported in conferences between a non-Panasonic system and/or MCUs. There may
be cases that a “video disturbance” or an “audio sound skipping” may occur. In such case,
set a lower bit rate and re-start the conference.

3. Network Recommendation
For communication between a non-Panasonic system or a MCU system, an intranet or a VPN
network is recommended, as the encryption communication feature will not be supported during
these communications.
A stable network like an intranet is recommended also from the fact that the AV-QoS will not
be supported as well. If an internet is used for its network, please note that there may be
possibilities that the video becomes unstable due to packet loss.

Video/Audio

Notes
If the user name is already set up in the HDX8000/7000 SIP server, KX-VC300/600
cannot communicate with HDX8000/7000, in case of NOT using SIP server.
When the connection is made in UDP of SIP, and if the HDX8000/7000 SIP/SDP
packet is bigger than the router’s MTU setting, KX-VC300/600 cannot communicate
with HDX8000/7000. The router’s MTU will need to be set at a bigger rate than the
HDX8000/7000 MTU.
KX-VC300/600 and HDX8000/7000 send as a same time, it’s impossible to send from
HDX8000/7000 after that. In this case, it needs to reboot HDX8000/7000.
Connection will be failed from KX-VC300/600 to HDX8000/7000 in below setting.
Transport Protocol of should be same as KX-VC300/600. (Please refer 5.1.1.1)
- KX-VC300/600: UDP or Auto
- HDX8000/7000: TCP
If KX-VC300/600 receives a 4SIF image from a HDX8000/7000, it will be
vertically displayed. It will need to be adjusted with the “other site’s aspect ratio

adjustment feature” (Green button on the remote control).
If the microphone is pulled out/plugged in during the connection, there may be cases
that the sound may have some interruption.
If KX-VC300/600 receives a XGA image from a HDX8000/7000, it will be
vertically displayed. It will need to be adjusted with the “other site’s aspect ratio
adjustment feature” (Green button on the remote control).

5.1.4.2. Built-in MCU
Subjects
Notes
SIP
When a terminal NOT based on H.264 joins the conference, the conference will
connection
start based on other than H.264, and thus KX-VC300/600 will not be able to attend
if it is kept default setting. It’s possible to avoid problem by the following procedure
which set at HDX8000 side. “Admin Settings” -> “Network” -> “Call Reference” ->
“Transcoding” (Refer 5.1.2.4)
When a user name is set in the HDX8000/with MCU’s SIP server in case of NOT
using SIP server, it cannot communicate with KX-VC300/600.
There may be cases that it cannot be connected to HDX8000/with MCU via a
router with a MTU setting, when the connection is made in UDP of SIP. This occurs
when the HDX8000/with MCU MTU setting is bigger than the router’s MTU
setting. The HDX8000/with MCU MTU setting will need to be set at a smaller rate
than the router’s MTU.
Video/Audio
When a terminal with a stream other than H.264 Basic Profile is connected in a
Presentation/Fullscreen mode, KX-VC300/600 will receive a stream that cannot be
de-coded, and thus the connection will shut down. It’s possible to avoid problem
with following procedure which set at HDX8000 side. “Admin Settings” ->
“Network” -> “Call Reference” -> “Transcoding” (Refer 5.1.2.4)
The video resolution that KX-VC300/600 sends will only be SIF.

The built-in MCU cannot be used.
The built-in MCU in VSX7000s will only support H.263. It’s not possible to
communicate with KX-VC300/600.
If the user name is already set in the VSX7000s SIP server, it will not be able to
communicate with KX-VC300/600 in case of NOT using SIP server.
In case the IP bit rate for VSX7000s is set at 128kbps, KX-VC300/600 cannot call
out to start the communication. (Will be able to communicate if VSX7000s is the
caller)
When SIP setting is changed for VSX7000s, it cannot communicate with
KX-VC300/600. VSX7000s need to reboot after changed VSX7000s setting.
Connection will be failed calling from KX-VC300/600 to VSX7000s in below setting.
Transport Protocol of both model should be same. Refer 5.1.1.1
- “SIP transport protocol” of KX-VC300/600: UDP or Auto
- “SIP transport protocol” of VSX 7000s: TCP
The transmitted video (from the camera) resolution will always be a SIF.
Since VSX7000s is a SD resolution system, it can not communicate based on HD.
The display setting for both the system and TV needs to match. If not, the ratio of
the image may not be properly displayed.

Notes
SIP
If the conference bandwidth is set below 384kbps, G.722 also needs to be set in the
connection
advanced parameter. (Default will not have the G.722 settings.) Refer 5.7.1.2
KX-VC300/600 cannot enter into the conference room with a password. It can only
join the conference if it is invited from a MCU Web console.
The MCU will not cut off its connection even if the network or power shuts down
during the conference, as it does not comply with the connection checking control .
(The record of KX-VC300/600 will remain in the Web console) Either the record in
the Web console needs to be deleted, or the connection needs to be manually cut off.
On a normal video conference (no switching mode), it needs to set 2Mbps or lower
forKX-VC300/600’s or RADVISION’s maximum bandwidth. If the bandwidth sent out
2Mbps or over, there may be cases that the video it receives may be disturbed
KX-VC300/600 cannot send out by SIP-URI, so it cannot call out to MCU even send
out by “connection number@IP address” in case of NOT using SIP server.
In case SIP connection is made with TCP, display timing in other terminals will be
delayed more than 30 sec, when 2nd HDVC enters to MCU meeting room via
Autoattendant.
When MCU dial out to all terminals at a same time and if protocol of those terminals are
both in H323 and SIP, connection with terminals using H323 may be failed. Individual
call out will work properly.
Video/Audio
While operating in a switching mode, there may be cases that the video it receives
may be disturbed depending on its system network configuration .
This is because there may be some packet loss depending on which SW-Hub it was
connected to, which is dependant on how the packet data will be sent (such as burst
transition).
When KX-VC300/600 sends out a SIF or a 4SIF video, it may be displayed having
its top and bottom cut off after receiving it through the MCU.
During a video conference over 768kbps bandwidth, the resolution of the video sent
from KX-VC300/600 will differ depending on who the caller/receiver is. (The
resolution will be HD when KX-VC300/600 is the caller, while it will be 4SIF
when the MCU is the caller)

If KX-VC300/600 and non-Panasonic video conference system are mixed to use for
conference, there may be cases that sound are different volume to hear from unit. In
this case, it’s solved by AGC on the MCU. Refer 5.7.2.2
PC contents of an end point using H323 cannot be shared, in case end point using H323
and end point using SIP are mixed up. Because when an end point using H323 sends
dual stream, KX-VC300/600 can display only camera, but not PC screen.
On a normal video conference (no switching mode) with 348kbps connection, a part of
image data both top and bottom will be cut out, even if autoblackmode is set enable.
During the set up of a conference room, the autoblackbarsmode (display mode
with black belts on the sides to fit a 4:3 video data) will need to be activated. If the
activation is incomplete, the receiver will receive a PC contents with a huge amount
of lack. This feature is therefore understood to be always activated in this
conference. Refer 5.7.2.3
When a XGA video is sent out from KX-VC300/600 which is a normal video
conference (no switching mode), noise may appears on the screen in other terminal.
When a SVGA video is sent out from KX-VC300/600 which is a normal video
conference (no switching mode), the bottom area may be disturbed while being
displayed at its receiving terminal.
When a VGA video is sent out over 512kbps bandwidth from KX-VC300/600
which is a normal video conference (no switching mode), the bottom may be 5%
cut off while being displayed at the receiving terminal.
If a terminal with a dual stream PC contents transition feature is connected,
KX-VC300/600 will only display the video sent from the main camera.
Additional terminals cannot be newly invited by operation of the menu screen
(modulator) in a terminal side, once the conference has been connected.
There may be cases that the conference bit rate differs from the maximum
bandwidth shown in the GUI.

SIP connection In case of using SIP/UDP connection, when the conference was invited from a MCU
and the network condition is not so stable (with packet loss), there may be
possibility that the connection shuts down. This phenomenon will not occur in case
of using SIP/TCP connection. (This is caused by the issue that the connection
checking control of the RMX2000 has.)
KX-VC300/600 cannot enter into a Switching mode conference room, when
maximum IP rate of terminal is set lower than IP rate of RMX’s meeting room.
In case of using SIP/UDP connection, there may be cases that it cannot be connected
to RMX2000 via a router with a MTU setting. This occurs when the RMX2000
MTU setting is bigger than the router’s MTU setting.
In case of NOT using SIP server, KX-VC300/600 cannot send out by SIP-URI, so it
cannot call out to MCU even send out by “connection number@IP address”.

(The IP bit rate is a rate left after subtracting the overhead such as the Ethernet Header from its network bandwidth.) ・ The AV-QoS feature supported during conferences between KX-VC300/600 units will not be supported in conferences between a non-Panasonic system and/or MCUs. There may be cases that a “video disturbance” or an “audio sound skipping” may occur. In such case, set a lower bit rate and re-start the conference. Panasonic System Networks Co., Ltd. 2
  • 6. HDVC111234 3. Network Recommendation For communication between a non-Panasonic system or a MCU system, an intranet or a VPN network is recommended, as the encryption communication feature will not be supported during these communications. A stable network like an intranet is recommended also from the fact that the AV-QoS will not be supported as well. If an internet is used for its network, please note that there may be possibilities that the video becomes unstable due to packet loss. When the connection is made in UDP of SIP, and if the HDX8000/7000 SIP/SDP packet is bigger than the router’s MTU setting, KX-VC300/600 cannot communicate with HDX8000/7000. The router’s MTU will need to be set at a bigger rate than the HDX8000/7000 MTU. KX-VC300/600 and HDX8000/7000 send as a same time, it’s impossible to send from HDX8000/7000 after that. In this case, it needs to reboot HDX8000/7000. Connection will be failed from KX-VC300/600 to HDX8000/7000 in below setting. Transport Protocol of should be same as KX-VC300/600. It will need to be adjusted with the “other site’s aspect ratio adjustment feature” (Green button on the remote control). 5.1.4.2. Built-in MCU Subjects Notes SIP When a terminal NOT based on H.264 joins the conference, the conference will connection start based on other than H.264, and thus KX-VC300/600 will not be able to attend if it is kept default setting. It’s possible to avoid problem by the following procedure which set at HDX8000 side. “Admin Settings” -> “Network” -> “Call Reference” -> “Transcoding” (Refer 5.1.2.4) When a user name is set in the HDX8000/with MCU’s SIP server in case of NOT using SIP server, it cannot communicate with KX-VC300/600. There may be cases that it cannot be connected to HDX8000/with MCU via a router with a MTU setting, when the connection is made in UDP of SIP. This occurs when the HDX8000/with MCU MTU setting is bigger than the router’s MTU setting. The HDX8000/with MCU MTU setting will need to be set at a smaller rate than the router’s MTU. Video/Audio When a terminal with a stream other than H.264 Basic Profile is connected in a Presentation/Fullscreen mode, KX-VC300/600 will receive a stream that cannot be de-coded, and thus the connection will shut down. It’s possible to avoid problem with following procedure which set at HDX8000 side. “Admin Settings” -> “Network” -> “Call Reference” -> “Transcoding” (Refer 5.1.2.4) The video resolution that KX-VC300/600 sends will only be SIF. 5.2. Limited Features Follows are the summary of limitation in its feature during the communication with KX-VC300/600. Subjects Notes SIP If the conference bandwidth is set below 384kbps, G.722 also needs to be set in the connection advanced parameter. (Default will not have the G.722 settings.) Refer 5.7.1.2 KX-VC300/600 cannot enter into the conference room with a password. It can only join the conference if it is invited from a MCU Web console. The MCU will not cut off its connection even if the network or power shuts down during the conference, as it does not comply with the connection checking control . (The record of KX-VC300/600 will remain in the Web console) Either the record in the Web console needs to be deleted, or the connection needs to be manually cut off. On a normal video conference (no switching mode), it needs to set 2Mbps or lower forKX-VC300/600’s or RADVISION’s maximum bandwidth. If the bandwidth sent out 2Mbps or over, there may be cases that the video it receives may be disturbed KX-VC300/600 cannot send out by SIP-URI, so it cannot call out to MCU even send out by “connection number@IP address” in case of NOT using SIP server. In case SIP connection is made with TCP, display timing in other terminals will be delayed more than 30 sec, when 2nd HDVC enters to MCU meeting room via Autoattendant. When MCU dial out to all terminals at a same time and if protocol of those terminals are both in H323 and SIP, connection with terminals using H323 may be failed. Individual call out will work properly. Video/Audio While operating in a switching mode, there may be cases that the video it receives may be disturbed depending on its system network configuration . This is because there may be some packet loss depending on which SW-Hub it was connected to, which is dependant on how the packet data will be sent (such as burst transition). When KX-VC300/600 sends out a SIF or a 4SIF video, it may be displayed having its top and bottom cut off after receiving it through the MCU. During a video conference over 768kbps bandwidth, the resolution of the video sent from KX-VC300/600 will differ depending on who the caller/receiver is. (The resolution will be HD when KX-VC300/600 is the caller, while it will be 4SIF when the MCU is the caller) Panasonic System Networks Co., Ltd. 67
  • 71. HDVC111234 PC Contents Transfer Others 5.8. If KX-VC300/600 and non-Panasonic video conference system are mixed to use for conference, there may be cases that sound are different volume to hear from unit. In this case, it’s solved by AGC on the MCU. Refer 5.7.2.2 PC contents of an end point using H323 cannot be shared, in case end point using H323 and end point using SIP are mixed up. Because when an end point using H323 sends dual stream, KX-VC300/600 can display only camera, but not PC screen. On a normal video conference (no switching mode) with 348kbps connection, a part of image data both top and bottom will be cut out, even if autoblackmode is set enable. During the set up of a conference room, the autoblackbarsmode (display mode with black belts on the sides to fit a 4:3 video data) will need to be activated. If the activation is incomplete, the receiver will receive a PC contents with a huge amount of lack. This feature is therefore understood to be always activated in this conference. Refer 5.7.2.3 When a XGA video is sent out from KX-VC300/600 which is a normal video conference (no switching mode), noise may appears on the screen in other terminal. When a SVGA video is sent out from KX-VC300/600 which is a normal video conference (no switching mode), the bottom area may be disturbed while being displayed at its receiving terminal. When a VGA video is sent out over 512kbps bandwidth from KX-VC300/600 which is a normal video conference (no switching mode), the bottom may be 5% cut off while being displayed at the receiving terminal. If a terminal with a dual stream PC contents transition feature is connected, KX-VC300/600 will only display the video sent from the main camera. Additional terminals cannot be newly invited by operation of the menu screen (modulator) in a terminal side, once the conference has been connected. There may be cases that the conference bit rate differs from the maximum bandwidth shown in the GUI. Tandberg Codian MCU 4501 5.8.1. • 88. HDVC111234 1 2 3 5.9.3. Identified System Reaction Follows are the results from the connectivity investigation with KX-VC300/600. SIP connection Video/Audio PC contents transfer Manufacturer Model Mode Send Receive Send Receive XGA SVGA VGA Polycom RMX2000 CP OK OK OK OK OK OK OK (VRMX2540D) Switching OK*2 OK*2 OK OK*1 OK OK OK OK: Can be connected, OK*: Conditionally OK, NG: Won’t work Send: Connection, transmission and control from KX-VC300/600 to MCU. Receive: Connection, transmission and control from MCU to KX-VC300/600. *1 Received Video may be distorted. *2 IP rate setting of terminal should be higher than IP rate setting of MCU meeting room. 5.9.4. Limited Features Subjects Notes SIP connection In case of using SIP/UDP connection, when the conference was invited from a MCU and the network condition is not so stable (with packet loss), there may be possibility that the connection shuts down. This phenomenon will not occur in case of using SIP/TCP connection. (This is caused by the issue that the connection checking control of the RMX2000 has.) KX-VC300/600 cannot enter into a Switching mode conference room, when maximum IP rate of terminal is set lower than IP rate of RMX’s meeting room. In case of using SIP/UDP connection, there may be cases that it cannot be connected to RMX2000 via a router with a MTU setting. This occurs when the RMX2000 MTU setting is bigger than the router’s MTU setting. In case of NOT using SIP server, KX-VC300/600 cannot send out by SIP-URI, so it cannot call out to MCU even send out by “connection number@IP address”. Panasonic System Networks Co., Ltd. 85
  • 89. HDVC111234 Video/Audio PC Contents Transfer Others The video specification sent out from KX-VC300/600 may differ, as it the video receiving specification may differ based on its bandwidth setting or mode. KX-VC300/600’s video display may be disturbed for few sec while the presenter is switching the speaker of the Switching mode conference room. When KX-VC300/600 receives a 1024x576 picture, it will be displayed vertically. It can be adjusted by using the aspect ratio adjustment feature (the green button on the remote control). If KX-VC300/600 and non-Panasonic video conference system are mixed to use for conference, there may be cases that sound are different volume to hear from unit. In this case, it’s solved by AGC on the MCU. Refer 5.9.2.3 If a terminal with a dual stream PC contents transition feature is connected, KX-VC300/600 will only display the video sent from the main camera. In case a meeting room is in switching mode, on RMX 2000 side, click on the “Profile Properties” -> Video Settings -> Activate “send content to Legacy Endpoints.” KX-VC300/600 can receive main camera and PC contents as a same time by the procedure. Refer 5.9.2.4 When entering into a conference room via the Welcome screen, its bit rate will be the same as the setting in the Welcome screen and not the setting of the conference room. (The caused is thought to be from problem of RMX2000) Panasonic System Networks Co., Ltd. 86
