Pet Pal Animal Shelter is a no-kill, non-profit shelter. Their mission is to rescue dogs and cats from animal shelters that may otherwise be euthanized due to time limitations, illness, injuries or lack of socialization and training. http://www.petpalanimalshelter.com/

[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Due to The Spring’s secret location I was not able to take any photos At The Spring , they are helping families, mostly mothers and their children cope with an abusive partner. They provide counseling, school, and a place to live. I spent only one and a half hours monitoring the playground and playing with the children, but in that time I fell in love with the children. They are happy despite their past. They would just run up and hug me, or take my hand to lead me to a game. The pure innocence of a child, from an abusive home, who just hugs you for no reason, can bring tears to your eyes. They do a great service for the community at The Spring.

[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],At Feeding America they set up the mock grocery store shelves in their warehouse so that some families can actually choose what food they can use. This helps to build their self-esteem, while treating them with respect. It is empowering to know that you can help the hungry by simply sorting through donated food items as fast and efficiently as possible. Meeting all the strangers who also want to make a difference is a great heartwarming feeling.
