This document appears to be a syllabus for a 10th grade physics and environmental science class taught by Mr. T. It includes information about the course topics, assessments, resources, classroom rules and expectations. Students are instructed to log into various online platforms like their school website and Google sites to access course materials and assignments. An introductory activity is described that involves observing motion using popper toys. Several educational apps are also listed that may be used in the class.

We will use technology a lot in our class,
including laptops, data-loggers and smartphones.
Please come charged and prepared.
We’ll use them sometimes…

• All our resources are on GoogleSites: is.gd/MrTG10Science
• We will use Quia a lot for formative, content-checking work.
• All tasks are reported in PowerSchool.
• You can subscribe the assignment calendar
• Most work will be collected on Turnitin.com or through GoogleDocs.
• Use APA for referencing in ALL tasks.
• My due dates are almost always 9pm. You need to get to bed.
• We use a lot of class time for assignments. Make good use of it.
• If you miss class, come as soon as possible to catch up.
• I’m always available to help.
• Be responsible and safe on social media. Protect your online reputation.
• Treat yourself, our working environment and others with respect.
8. Assessment
Canadian Academy inspires students to inquire,
reflect and choose to compassionately
impact the world throughout their lives.
• ALL Summative assessments need to be completed.
• Missed assignments lose semester credit
• Late summative work results in:
• email sent to parents, counselor, principal
• compulsory 1 hour detention with principal
• work must be submitted at the end of the detention
• Summative assessment grades are based on the six MYP Criteria
• Details of criteria and grade boundaries are here
• We’ll go over these as we go along
• All grades are put into Powerschool
10. Google Docs
Canadian Academy inspires students to inquire,
reflect and choose to compassionately
impact the world throughout their lives.
• Most drafting and collaboration takes place in GoogleDocs.
• NEVER rename or delete this folder:
• This is where most of the documents you need will be placed.
• It will also allow me to see your progress and give feedback on
tasks.

be creative?
4. White: The Facts
• What are you going
to study in this class
and what do you
need to do?
6. Red: Feelings

13. Popper Physics
Canadian Academy inspires students to inquire,
reflect and choose to compassionately
impact the world throughout their lives.
The popper toys on your table demonstrate changes in
motion and transfers of energy. As a group, manipulate and
observe the popper and do the following on an A3 sheet:
• Describe what happens to the popper using words.
• Describe the motion of the popper using diagrams or
graphs.
What is the difference between independent and
dependent variables? Give some examples of each and how
you might design experiments around the poppers.
• Think about some variables that you might work with:
• Independent variables
• Dependent variables
