SET A

Transcribe the antisense strand by complementary base-pairing it with RNA nucleotides.

mRNA
Remember: in RNA Thymine (T) is NOT used. It is replaced with Uracil (U).

What does the ‘m’ in mRNA mean?
How does the mRNA strand compare to the original DNA Sense strand?
Send to the ribosome, through the nuclear membrane.

3. Identify the codons and write the amino acid sequence. You are the ribosome. (A)
 Hint: scan through to find the START codon first (methionine).
Sequence of amino acids:

How many codons?
How many amino acids?
How many base pairs?

Transcription (you are RNA polymerase) SET A Transcribe the antisense strand by complementary base-pairing it with RNA nucleotides. mRNA Remember: in RNA Thymine (T) is NOT used. It is replaced with Uracil (U). What does the ‘m’ in mRNA mean? How does the mRNA strand compare to the original DNA Sense strand? Send to the ribosome, through the nuclear membrane. -------------------cut----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Identify the codons and write the amino acid sequence. You are the ribosome. (A)  Hint: scan through to find the START codon first (methionine). Sequence of amino acids: How many codons?
