 What Linux is?
Linux Is . . .

operating system a Unix-
like computer operating
system assembled under the
model of free and open
source software development
and distribution.
 Linux first released was on October 5th 1991
by student in Helsinki,Finlandia named Linus
  Torvalds
 The name of “Linux” has taken from the
  founder namely “Linus” Torvalds
 It’sFree! Yes,because anyone can change
the source code without pay any fee.
 Free from Viruses, because the computer virus
in general running in binnary X11 and
  “masquerade” as Executable Program
(exe). While Linux is not running that binnary.
FORMATION OF LINUX

         LINUX
 Linux Distribution is a member of the family
of Unix-like operating systems built on top of
the Linux kernel. Such distributions (often
called distro for short) are operating
systems including a large collection of software
    applications such as word processors,
    spreadsheets, media players, and database
    applications.
 Redhat
 The popular distribution, minimum in
 Indonesia. Redhat is first constitute
 distribution which the installation and
 operation is easy.
 Ubuntu
This distro is the most popular in the
world.Besides very easy to use and have the
user friendly interfaces, Ubuntu also popular
 in circle of Newbie/beginner
 Debian

 Distribution which prioritize stability and
 reliability,though sacrifice simplicity and
recency aspect. Debian using .deb in
 packet installation program.
 Slackware
This distribution ever be a king in Linux world.Almost all
Linux documentation prepared by Slackware. Two things
most important from Slackware are all of contents (kernel,
library or application) already tested. Maybe the system is
old but surely very stable. Second, because Slackware
recommended us to install from source so that every
program installed can be optimize with our system. This is
the reason it can’t use binary RPM and until Slackware
version 4.0, it still using libc5 not glibc2 like the other.
 Server(Web Server,Mail Server,Webmail
 Server, etc)
 Router
       (Management
 Bandwidth,Management User,Proxy,etc)
 Desktop PC / Laptop
 Not just for interest of
 commercial/business,Linux is very good for
help us to complete our daily/job activity.
 Mobile Device & Tablet PC
Android, kind of smartphone popular today which
built from Linux kernel. Rich of feature, stable
system, and of course easy to use (although
 beginner)
So no wonder if now Linux is the most popular
and favored Operating System around the world.
 Linux is stable operating system

 Wecan change the source code Linux
 without pay any fee

 Linux 99% free from viruses

 Linux system is more secure than Windows

 LINUX IS REALLY FREE!
Thanks for your
attention guys!
I Hope you will enjoy
with Linux 
See you next time..
