6. These constant activities pose a threat to our environment! They cause the Earth’s temperature to increase! If we do not do something about it… --- thenthis little kitten will die! And…
7. Ka Boom! Its not a good thing… the world is gonna BOOM… if we don’t act!
8. Actually it would not Explode… There would be certain changes around our environment which would lead to disasters These activities would amplify the damage of Global Warming! As so the effects would take a devastating toll on us and it is we the one’s that will suffer…
9. Effects of Global Warming: More countries would suffer from extensive droughts. Some low-lying countries suffer from flooding. Rise in temperature would cause certain species of plants and animals to die. More cases of heat related diseases such as skin cancer and damaging of eye cataracts. Rise in sea levels cause animals and plants to lose their natural habitat. Many more…
11. If not, then… We have to do something now before nothing happens! But before we do something, we have to understand the problem! So what is Global Warming ?
12. Global Warming Global Warming is simply the heating up of the atmosphere within our Earth. It is cause by the excessive amounts of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere because of daily human activities such as travel on vehicles and producing electricity by burning coal. Thus too much of these gases trap too much heat within the atmosphere which then increases the average temperature of the Earth’s surface. What is Green house effect?
13. Greenhouse Gases Methane– Produced mainly by cows through their fart. Methane is a flammable gas. Carbon Dioxide – A very common gas which makes up the most percentage of the greenhouse gas. Plants require this gas to produce food. Carbon Dioxide is produce when trees, and fuel are burned. Nitrous Oxide – Commonly known as the “laughing gas”. It is the deadliest greenhouse gas in the sense that it does a much more harmful effect to the ozone layer than other gases.
14. What can we do to reduce the impact of Global Warming? We can practice the Three “R’s”- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce the usage of non-biodegradable items such as plastic and Styrofoam. Reuse materials like glass bottles and metal cans for decoration purposes. Recycle items such as newspapers, card-boxes and rainwater. Raise awareness to your friends and families about energy and resource saving techniques. Use energy efficient products such as energy-saving bulbs and solar powered devices. Drive less and travel smart. Walk whenever possible as a main form of transport. Take public transport over your own vehicle.
