Though I had been to the Grand Canyon in the past, I had only seen the Canyon from the South Rim. I had never hiked down into the Canyon, so jumped at the chance to go backpacking with my experienced dental friends. - 5. What are five things your Backpack to the Canyon must contain? 1) A camera. I actually brought 2! My iPhone and a small camera to capture as many pictures as I could get! 2) Water and electrolytes, to avoid dehydration. 3) Duct tape- used to solve all kinds of problems including taping blisters. 4) High energy snacks. Once we had hiked out and were looking down into the canyon, I was able to put it into perspective just how large the canyon actually is. What a great experience! I am looking forward to another trip, sometime in the future.
