The document outlines a classroom activity where students are split into teams to research theories about the assassination of JFK. Each team is assigned a different theory to investigate: the conspiracy team researches conspiracy theories; the grassy knoll team examines the grassy knoll theory; and the lone gunman team analyzes the lone gunman theory. Students are instructed to read a book on the assassination and use provided resources to complete their assignments. They will then present their findings and participate in a follow-up activity where the class debates the grassy knoll and lone gunman theories.

1. WebQuest: JFK Assassination Logic
Introduction:
Our world is full of unsolved crimes and conspiracies in the government; have you ever thought
that you can figure out the truth on your own? Even though it may not be a truth that can be proven,
you will find a truth that can be supported by plenty enough information to state your case. In 1963,
President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and YOU are going to dig deep into the book of JFK
Assassination Logic and other Internet sources to decide which theory you believe most in.
Tasks:
The class will be separated into teams of 5.
1) The Research team will provide us information about the theories.
2) The Conspiracy team will provide us with all the mysterious information with the assassination.
3) The Grassy Knoll team will provide us with information about this theory.
4) The Lone Gunman team will provide us with information about this theory.
Process:
Each student shall read the book JFK Assassination Logic before this project will commence.
For The Research Team: (this will be for the students who either have special needs or don’t excel as

•
Start out with listing the theories that the book lays out.
•
Fill in each topic with the information we will need regarding these topics in brief- the other
teams will investigate more thoroughly.
•
At the end of your task, write at least a 1 ½ page paper about the assignment’s entitlements,
score each person in your groups’ participation, and write the information you found.
•
On presentation day, you will give a brief overview and provide handouts for your class.
For The Conspiracy Team:

the book.

FINISHED PRODUCT EXAMPLE:
This is an example of a piece of the group’s task from last year when our project was done on
the Holocaust.
1) Our group is discussing the five major death camps that were a part of the Holocaust.
Auschwitz, Belzec, Chlemno, Janowska, Sobibor, Treblinka and Majdanek.
2) Auschwitz is the most famous because it was the biggest and over a million victims were
murdered here.
The student then went on to tell about the rest of the camps.
Although your assignment is about the JFK Assassination, the set up for this will be similar.
Resources:
Below each group, I have provided you with what I think would be helpful for your research. You are
also to use your book.
4. Evaluation:
Your grade will be based on 4 key factors.
1) How you participated in the group. This will be based on how others in your group score you
and how I see you working with others.
2) Your turned in writing. If you answered all of the questions that I asked and meet the length
requirement, you will receive full credit since the questions are based on opinions. This
grade will also include the content that you turned into me that I asked you to research.
3) Your presentation. How your group presents your information to the class, although it is
brief, it will be a percentage of your grade.
4) The project as a whole. With the information that you have found out in your tasks and
handed into me, the presentation, and the handouts you gave to the class, I will collaborate
a grade as a separate grade from the other three.
5.
6. Conclusion:
After this project is finished, everyone in the class will gain more knowledge than they had
before by just reading the book. Have you came to a conclusion yet?! Well, now it is time for phase
two of this project. At the end of presentation day, we will split into teams and separate the class
into two teams: The Grassy Knoll Theory and The Lone Gunman Theory. Although I know the
anticipation is killing you, you will find out next week what we will do with these teams!
