3. The “E” or “Everybody” Section
The “E” or “Everybody” section is the part of our
library where fictional picture books and beginning
readers are kept. These stories are made up in
the mind of the author.
4. The “E” or “Everybody” Section
The call number is made up of an E (which stands
for “everybody”) and the first 3 letters of an
author’s last name. “E” books are put in ABC order
on the bookshelf by the author’s last name.

5. The “F” or “Fiction” Section
The F section is the part of our library where
fictional chapter books are kept. These stories are
made up in the mind of the author.
6. The “F” or “Fiction” Section
The call number is made up of an F (which stands
for “fiction”) and the first 3 letters of an author’s
last name. “F” books are put in ABC order by the
author’s last name.

The Non-Fiction section is the part of our library
where books with facts and information are kept.

They are put in order by the Dewey Decimal System.
This system puts books in order by SUBJECT.

you can find books with facts and information about
a person’s life.

The call number is made up of a “B” (which stands
for “biography”) and the first 3 letters of the last
name of the person that the book is about.
(They are NOT put in ABC order by the author’s
last name!)

23. Reference Section
The Reference section in our library is where
reference books such as dictionaries, encyclopedias,
almanacs, and atlases are kept. These books do
not circulate. They can not be borrowed.
24. Magazine Section
The magazine section in our library is where you
can find current magazines like American Girl, Boy’s
Life, Cobblestone, Highlights, Nickelodeon, and
Sports Illustrated for Kids.
