2. The markets opened on a positive note and remained in green at highs
till the noon session. In the second part of the day, markets slipped
drastically into red and finally closed on a flat to negative note.
Earlier gains were supported by strong pull back seen in rupee against
dollar after touching the record low yesterday. Rupee gained in the
morning after RBI came up with certain measures to arrest the fall of the
currency.
On the sectoral front, there was gains in oil and consumer durable while
the gains were erased in metal, auto, power, banking, realty and capital
goods.
