2. Gengis A. Pérez I was born in Mayaguez on May 18 1981, but I was raised in Aguadilla. I lived near the beach at “EL HIGUEY”, is a beautiful place. To be exact, I lived three minutes from the beach. I have a big brother and his name is Antonio. Hector and Amelia are Parents.
3. When I was five years old I started taking JUDO classes. I got in the puertorican team twice to compete in the United States in the Junior Nationals. At this same age my father got me into the Cub Scouts. Those were pretty good years for me. At the age of fifteen I started surfing near home in some very good beaches, like: Wilderness, Bridges, Mix, Pressure Point, Jobos, Secret Spot, Golondrinas, Shore Island. But since I was a local to Bridges beach I spent most of the time there.
4. I was close to drown in twice. But I like this sport very much. But even though is an extreme sport I had wonderful experiences, for example at Wilderness beach we saw twice a Carey (sea turtle) swimming inside a wave and we saw it later swimming right by us. And that was awesome. I’m still practicing this sport today but not as much as I want to. The best thing about this is that my parents supported my even when they knew it was kind of dangerous sport. Thanks to that I got to see wonderful stuff.

But as a young boy I did bad things, I was always in the principal office. But I had good grades and that kind of solved much of my problems. Then I went to Dr Agustin Stahl on junior high an I also had good grades and kind of did have my first girlfriend. But I have to admit that nothing really interesting happened.
6. Then I went to Jose de Diego High school. Here I graduated with honors and by the time I was finishing High school I was an Eagle scout and this to was a great achivement. By this time I was taking Tae Kwon Do classes. After that I started studying at Cora University to be a teacher as a second language. While I was studying in Cora some wonderful happened in my life, I went to church regularly and my life was new.
7. I found a job at a school in Aguada helping a teacher and for the time I worked there I had to quit the University because I was helping my Pastor doing some works at our Church. Then I got married and after two years of marriage we had A daughter named Ashley. Now I felt the obligation to find a more steady job for my family.
