Asia-Pacific Retail Handbook - June 2013
This is the ninth edition of the Asia-Pacific Retail Handbook and, like its predecessors, it is designed to
complement the European Retail Handbook. This year’s Asia-Pacific Retail Handbook follows the
format of last year’s with profiles of the major retailers in the region and a survey of 16 countries.
The coverage is not exhaustive but the list reflects the countries where there is a sufficiently developed retail
market. These profiles provide detail on the activities of the companies, including five-year financial
performance, where available, and development in the store network, an overview of the retail offering and
any e-commerce activities within the Asia-Pacific region.
For each country and company we have endeavoured to make the data contained in this report as comparable
as possible. However, inevitably there are differences in the way in which data is reported and the frequency
of publication so this has not always been possible.
