Krsna appeared on earth to rejuvenate devotional service and to deliver the conditioned souls suffering from material existence. He appeared in Mathura as the son of Vasudeva and Devaki, with four arms holding the sankha, cakra, gada and padma. Vasudeva carried the newborn Krsna to Nanda Maharaja's home in Gokula to protect him from the evil king Kamsa. Serving Krsna starts with properly using our tongue to chant his holy names and offer food to him before eating.
