2. INTRODUCTION
Halloween also known as Halloween or All Souls
Night is a celebration of Celtic origin which is
celebrated internationally on the night of
October 31, especially in Canada, USA, Ireland,
UK and Colombia. And to a lesser extent in
Spain, Mexico, Peru, Chile and Central America.
Its roots are linked to the Celtic celebration of
Samhain and the Christian holiday All Saints'
Day, celebrated by Catholics on November 1. It
is largely a secular celebration, but some
believe it has a religious background. Irish
immigrants passed versions of the tradition to
North America during the Great Irish Famine.
3. HISTORY
Halloween has its origins in a
Celtic festival known as Samhain,
which is derived from Old Irish
and means end of summer. The
ancient Britons had a similar
festival known as Calan Gaeaf. In
the Samhain was celebrated the
end of the harvest season in the
Celtic culture and was regarded
as the "Celtic New Year", which
began with the dark season
4. TRADITION
Originally trick or treating was a popular
legend of Celtic origin, according to which not
only the spirits of the dead were free to roam
the Earth on Halloween night, but all kinds of
beings from all spiritual realms. Among them
was one terribly malevolent wandering
through towns and villages, going from house
to house asking precisely "trick or treating".
The legend says that it was better to
treatment, regardless of the cost that it had,
because not agree with this spirit he would
use his powers to "trick" that would be cursing
the house and its inhabitants, giving them all
sorts of misfortunes and curses as family sick,
kill livestock to pests or to burn the house
itself. To protect the idea of creating horrific
forms of pumpkins, so avoid running the
