3. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
MAI Engineering was founded in 1986 by Keith Moore as Harper-Moore after a career in large
scale construction management positions. His brother, Kent, joined him in 1988 after a similar
career experience and the company became known as Moore and Associates, Inc. or more
familiarly as MAI.
The company prevailed during the recession of the 1980’s and capitalized on the economic
resurgence in the 1990’s. Coupled with the resurgence was the expansion of services supporting
Hurricane Damage Assessments in the 21st Century.
MAI brought on a new partner, Garth Ash, in 2003. Garth brings background in industrial plant
management in the chemical and plastics arena including productivity, environmental, health and
safety.
The theme of the company was, and continues to be, providing solid engineering type services
and solutions for competitive, no-frill cost. MAI enjoys a solid track record for meeting and
beating the budgetary estimates where the project scope is well defined.
MAI hosts all major disciplines of engineering services and maintains a resource pool of
specialized service disciplines to meet client needs.
MAI maintains three offices located in Mt Vernon, IN; Pensacola, FL; and Calvert City, KY.
Where possible, MAI prefers to work on-site with a client which minimizes costs and increases
productivity.
