Asked to break through the Mold and Conditioning of the past!
1. Asked to break through the Mold and Conditioning of the
past!
Metals must undergo extremes of temperature, folding and pounding, but the end product is
infinitely superior to impure ore mined from the earth. In this image, the soul volunteers the ego
for a cleansing and healing experience which may turn the personality inside-out, but which
brings out the gold hidden within the heart.
As the Sun sets over the mountain, closing another day,
I feel my heart mourning, the loss of it’s embrace,
But before long, the Moon sings her song,
And distant stars take It’s place.
Happy New moon in Capricorn today! Time to get out there and get the job done. May also be a
week of saying goodbye to something/someone close and dealing with those feelings that go
along with that. The trick will be to remember that the universe hates a void and empty space is
soon filled. May yours be filled with joy and gratitude…. aloha

Wheel of Fortune…: Capricorn New moon & Happy New Year
Published by Priya at 3:58 am under Daily Astrology and Cosmic Weather
The new year is upon us and it’s been back to business now. As I look into the coming year,
2013 promises to usher in great wave of change. But it will be up to us to catch the tide and
make the most of the opportunities as they arise. And where one dares to make conscious
changes the rewards will be felt tangibly.
We are now entering a very fertile Dark of the Moon. The Moon is in Capricorn moving towards
a New Moon at 21+ degrees on Jan. 11, 2013 at 2:43 PM EDT in the US and just after midnight
on Jan. 12, 2013 at 1:13 AM INT here in India.
Capricorn is the third earth sign, representing material or physical energy in it’s most evolved
state. It is the sign that represents tradition, wealth, social status, business and corporations,
government, society or what is defined as “success.” Global political and economic
developments are very much likely to be in the news.
But with Pluto in Capricorn as we begin this new cycle, , especially on an individual level, we are
being asked to break through the mold and conditioning of the past to discover true integrity and
inner strength. Something that is clearly illustrated in the Sabian Symbol for the degree of the
lunation.
Here is an interpretation taken from Dane Rudhyar’s book An Astrological Mandala:
==
PHASE 292 (CAPRICORN 22°): BY ACCEPTING DEFEAT GRACEFULLY, A GENERAL
REVEALS NOBILITY OF CHARACTER.
KEYNOTE: The realization that one may grow through defeat as well as, and perhaps more
than, through success.

3. While the preceding symbol referred to the drive toward success in culturally organized
collective endeavors, this one presents us with the possibility of turning apparent external defeat
into an inner spiritual achievement. We have recently seen how totally vanquished nations
(Germany and Japan) have leaped forward and achieved great economic success. Much
depends on the quality of the will and the inner integrity of the person.
At this second stage we find what seems to be a paradox, but the spiritual life is always
paradoxical. The great sinner can become the most renowned saint, and a medieval Pope a
criminal. What matters most always is INNER STRENGTH.

Where ever you feel you may have failed, or whatever you feel you’ve touched reached rock
bottom with, consider this a golden opportunity to make spiritual progress. The New Moon is
always a suggestion of a new cycle and aspects suggest there are more surprises around the
corner. Only when we have accepted “defeat” can we grow in wisdom and spiritual strength
which are the roots and seed of success.
Venus is now in Capricorn in a tight square to Uranus in Aries at the time of the lunation, exact
on Jan. 13, 2013 seeding the energy with great potential for progress within financial situations
and with relationships.
There could be important breakthroughs if we are willing to push boundaries to discover what
we are capable of achieving if we try. And whether one fails or succeeds does not matter. What
matters is finding the courage to live true to your integrity and passion. The aspect is pushing
boundaries of trust, asking us to acknowledge what we value in a situation rather than live up to
superficial standards of society or material attachments.
** [I added this paragraph later] After I wrote this Blog, I was thinking of an appropriate title and
“Wheel of Fortune” came to mind. Because the energy of this New Moon and the
Venus-Uranus aspect deeply resonated with the Wheel of Fortune card from the Tarot. Later I
realized it is also the 10th card of the Major Arcana and Capricorn is the 10th sign. So
understanding the energy of the Wheel of Fortune might also be helpful at this time.
Jan from Angel Paths Tarot writes about the Fortune card:
“Good fortune comes from the still centre which contains the very heart of ourselves. The
seasons will continue to wheel, the sun will rise and set, the planets will move in their allotted
courses – with or without us. If we struggle against the flow of life, we become those struggling
to ascend the Wheel, or even one of those crushed beneath it. However, if we realise our own
power to create a beneficial future and then trust in that vision, we shall

4. become the still figure, master of our own universe.”
Also Sarah Taylor, who is a Tarot reader that I learn a great deal from and truly admire for her
depth of insight, wrote in an article about this card:
“To use the metaphor of the wheel: we can cling to the outside of the wheel, where we run the
risk of meeting any of the three figures and getting thwarted. Or we can move to the center,
away from obstacles, and where the movement is minimised. In other words, we can cling to the
outside world, to what is familiar and what we don’t want to relinquish. Or we can surrender the
notion of clinging, and move to our own center. Individuation is about identifying and excavating
the core that lies in each of us that cannot be shifted or thwarted by external circumstances.
When we are in touch with our center, we are in touch with the Self: timeless and unperturbed
by the whims of fortune. It is from this point of balance that we can then move out into the world,
once the movement has stopped, with a renewed sense of the true source of our
empowerment.”
In relationships as well, there may be a sense of breaking social norms. Where one has been in
denial, this is likely bringing an awakening to reality. Asking us to wiping the slate clean so we
can move forward with an awareness of what is precious. Although Venus in Capricorn likes
and can represent the finer things in life, luxury and material pleasure, love and relationships
aren’t just about candlelight dinners and romance. Successful relationships that last, take
hard-work, commitment and only get richer and rewarding as time goes on.
As you enter this cycle be inventive, innovative, creative and willing to push the limit. Capricorn
is about setting goals and then staying the path as one manifests them.

5. As any Capricorn or successful person will tell you, there are no short cuts to success. It takes
hard work and dedication; knowing when to cut your losses and knowing when to persevere
determinedly, and knowing that neither success nor failure defines the measure of your
humanity. The seeds we are planting now may take time to come to fruition, but the intangible
spiritual rewards will far outweigh the tangible benefits.
