In this case, Flightstats still showed on time, so TripIt did too (same data) – later updated to show missed connect
Next is finding out how credible the delay is – will it hold? I’m cheating using Sabre, but here’s what happened (you can see this in ExpertFlyer)
It’s credible, and the ATL flight looks on time, so we need other options – looks like weather-related issues at ORD, so we will have trouble getting UA to put on another airline, start with ExpertFlyer or United.com - nothing
Next find where else United flies – (red is codeshare) – Norfolk may work
ORF is delayed but might work – still, it would be tight
Now think about other airlines since the clients needs to get there tonight – might require out of pocket – AirTran nonstop
