2. The “Viewer” is the window through which we experience the virtual environment. It frames our experience and constrains our interactions.
4. New users start with LL’s official viewer Experienced users often migrate to alternative viewers..
5. Alternative viewers give users more options and are often developed to cater to certain types of users/activities – movie makers, photographers, role players, mobile, etc. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory
48. Experienced SL users should explore and try third party viewers (TPVs) to see what’s possible. Many TPVs make grid-hopping much easier. Building and special use cases often better served by TPVs.
49. Caveats: Always check to make sure a TPV is registered with Linden Lab. Be wary of TPVs that do not disclose developers and data policies. NEVER use your SL password with a TPV website.
