global cues. Choppy benchmarks dropped further and finally ended near day’s low levels. Sensex lost 166 points while
Nifty ended at 5833. Among BSE sectorials, banking index was the top laggard.
On global front, US indices traded in fine fettle on drop in jobless claims. Asian indices were also mostly in green
whereas European indices traded with deep cuts.
Back home, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Videocon Industries rallied 6% and 6.33% respectively on BSE

The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 19727.27, down 166.58 points or 0.84%. The 30 share index touched a high and a
low of 19981.57 and 19674.38 respectively. 6 stocks advanced against 24 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty lost 49.05 points or 0.83% to settle at 5833.20. The index touched high and low of 5909.20 and
5819.30 respectively. 12 stocks advanced against 38 declining ones on the index.

0.59%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 0.25% at 24.06 from its previous close of 24.00 on Thursday.
