GPS (Global Positioning System) technology is widely known for its ability to track down devices in real time. Combined with mobile phones, it has become a very powerful tool with a great potential for future development of mobile GPS applications. The Interactive ZooOz Guide was a final year industry project carried out by seven students from three separate courses to tackle a project that involves upgrading the Melbourne Zoo’s mapping system through the use of GPS technology. The aim of the project is to explore the potential capability of using GPS in the Zoo environment. The proposed system uses a PDA device with a GPS receiver that tracks users’ location in real time as they are touring around the Zoo. In this paper, an insight into GPS technology is briefly reviewed and the design and implementation of “Interactive ZooOZ Guide” is described. Then GUI (Graphical User Interface) is presented in detail. Finally conclusion is drawn from the “proof of concept” prototype.

Nowadays, the frequency of abduction is increasing significantly. Information technology provide many social media which is causing the leaked of personal information where abductor can find out the information. Using social media, people can share location, life event, and anything related about their life event, these become the useful information for the abductor. To anticipate this, a lot of personal tracking device is developed, but the response is too late. Because, the family or relative of the victims will notice that abduction had happen after the victim is lost. According to the problem, this research will focus on develop the personal tracking device which trigger by the victims who own the phone based on android and web application. Whenever the abduction happens, the victim just need to click the button and the system will send a message to the relatives and family in their contact also trigger the notification to the local security. Software development life cycle that will be used is scrum which is divided into several processes like backlog, sprints, scrum meetings, and demos. The result of this research is android application for user and web application for managing application.

Video surveillance always had a negative connotation, among others because of the loss of privacy and because it may not automatically increase public safety. If it was able to detect atypical (i.e. dangerous) situations in real time, autonomously and anonymously, this could change. A prerequisite for this is an automatic detection of possibly dangerous situations from video data. From the derived trajectories we then want to determine dangerous situations by detecting atypical trajectories. However, it is better to develop such a system without people being threatened or even harmed, plus with having them know that there is such a tracking system installed. In the artistic project leave a trace the tracked people become actor and thus part of the installation. Visualization in real-time allows interaction by these actors, which in turn creates many atypical interaction situations on which we could develop our situation detection.

RapGeoRef, a software tool for rapid acquistion of streetwise geo-referenced maps, is presented. A evaluation study of RapGeoRef was performed on the USU campus with four students. The participants were told about the purpose of the tool and shown a demo. They were then asked to construct a geo-referenced database for an area of the USU campus. Upon completion, they were given the NASA TLX questionnaire to assess the subjective workload.All participants were able to complete the task in one day. The analysis of the NASA TLX questionnaire revealed that the temporal demand was much more prominent to the participants than either mental or physical effort.

This paper explains how the process of reading the data object detection results with a certain color. In this case, the object is an orange tennis ball. We use a Pixy CMUcam5 connecting to the Arduino Nano with microcontroller ATmega328-based. Then through the USB port, data from Arduino nano re-read and displayed. It’s to ensure weather an orange object is detected or not. By this process, it will be exactly known how many blocks object detected, including the X and Y coordinates of the object. Finally, it will be explained the complexity of the algorithms used in the process of reading the results of the detection orange object.
