2. The most important thing we must remember as artists, is that our eyes tend to generalize what we see. It is only by practicing our powers of observation that we become more observant, therefore more accurate.
3. When looking at a drawing or an object, always break it down into the basic Vocabulary of the eye: LINE, FORM, COLOR, SHAPE. Some questions to ask: What colors do I see? What about the different shades of that color when I look at the object I am rendering? What shapes do I see? What kinds of lines am I looking at? How do the shapes fit onto the page? Where do they fit? What am I feeling when I look at this object/ work?
