4. Outcomes: SMARTEST goals T is for Towards(focus on positives rather than negatives) E is for Exciting (follow your passions and dreams) S is for Supported(what resources can you access to make your goal achievable?) T is for time-bound (put you goal in a clearly defined time frame.)
5. Activities: making your ‘To Do’ list work. Today list and to don’t list: Clear Clutter Make a list of not more than 7 things for your day ahead. Make a list of things you don’t want to do and which you don’t need to do …by taking things off your ToDo list that tend to sit there. Create 30 minutes a day to clear your back log folder. Just pick 1 or 2 things a day to clear from your backlog.
6. Activities: 6 Ds Drop: What if I drop this? Diminish: What if I only do part of it? Defer: What if I do it later? Delegate: What if I could ask someone else to do it? DO it straight away. Decide! - Make a conscious Decision. Otherwise you have procrastination or the madness of doing too much at once.
7. Matching: putting the task together with the right person. Don’t set people up to fail and don’t give them mindless tasks. Brief: give people clear instructions. Commitment: Check that they understand, there are no more questions, that they have the skills and the commitment. Monitoring:control the risk – get the right balance. Feedback:recognise the work done, observe ways to improve. Activities: DELEGATION- if you are not delegating, you are not developing
