event promotion
There was a time when promoting your events took
a series of flyers, a wheelbarrow full of posters and
teams to get them out and about - people to hand out
the flyers and put up the posters. Of course, you also
needed someone to design each and a printer up to
the task.
Things have moved on since then. Most local councils
frown upon putting up posters and also the confetti of
flyers strewn across the pavements outside venues.
Now we look to all sorts of other means of getting the
message out about the gig, the club night, as well as all
the other events we put on.
It is still necessary to get someone to design the
content to be used. Now the graphic design goes up
onto timelines, walls of websites and similar channels.
It is often an online thing, based around social media
and other channels.
Now, however, it is not just a case of still imagery. We
create posters, flyers as apart of our background and
tradition - we have been involved in events,
performance and promotion for a decade or four. We
also create video flyers - the audio to go with them
and the video.

Here are some examples of the work we have done for
Room 303. As part of our involvement - Quantize of
‘futurhood av’ VJ’s at the event - we also back this
presence up with the creation of video flyers, occasional
video retrospectives of the events from footage taken on
the night and blog articles and social media mentions of all
of this.
Current event promotion needs to involve:
- flyer and poster design, so that there is a basic graphic to
attach to everything
- suitable mention on various social media channels, the
graphic content mentioned, perhaps an audio mix, full
details of the event, lineup, where, when, cost, anything
special on the night, what you can do, what you cannot do
(always useful just in case)
- video flyer
- previous footage to whet the appetite
- links to everywhere and everyone involved.
Of course, we can help you with all of this. Take a look at
the futurhood av youtube channel for all sorts of examples
of all of these. You can find other examples of our design
work for events on the coloursheard.wordpress.com blog
and in various of our other e-zines.

music video
Music videos are an artform all of their own
and they are a necessary part of the current
armoury for producers, performers and so on.
Here you will find stills from a series of videos
created by me - some contributing towards
the ‘redhouse’ project and some to the
‘aromatiq revisited’ project. In each case we
are talking about music in the rough chillstep
area. The music was created by me from a
whole variety of freely available samples, the
video similarly.

business video
Business video is now increasingly used by even small
businesses given recent google updates. Having varied
and suitable content of a suitable quality is an absolute
must for any business with an online presence.
F4mmedia is no different to any small business. Recently
uploaded to the f4mmediavideo youtube channel are two
new short pieces of video promotional content. Take the
time to look at the elements video portfolios.
Video is now a real tool that small businesses can use in
their marketing mix. We, f4mmedia, offer a whole range of
cheap - value for mioney - options for those looking to add
such content whether it is to be added to their own
website or another channel such as youtube, vimeo or
other.
But do not forget - the google emphasis is upon qulaity -
so the ‘homemade’ may not do you any favours.

small business marketing
The marketing mix for a new small business seems like a mountain
when first viewed. It may seem insurmountable, a mystery, definitely
hard work.
Getting the intial branding right is a major task - your logo, a tagline,
finding the right mix of palette, typography, the style of design needs
real thought, time and imagination, as well as a good idea of how the
market is acting.
From there assessing which channels are going to bear the best fruit
can seem a daunting task. Certainly a suitable website is regularly
the first task and rightly so - having a point of contact is a must for all
businesses, having something to show the basics of the business,
give basic information is more than a good idea. The step on - should
we do facebook? twitter? linkedin? pinterest? All of this depends
upon the business, the budget, the time available. But if you start -
keep it up! You could of course employ us ... but then that goes with-
out saying - or does it?
