3. stock images
Having a range of stock images is a must for any business presenting itself online as well as in print - which means
pretty well every business known to man.
The right image is a necessity if you are going to get that all important
message across properly to the people you are seeking to reach.
Sourcing those images can be a very real task unless you have
them to hand. Useful sources of stock images are always welcome.

5. There is a wealth of websites offering up stock images - some just plain free, some royalty free - unsplash, gratisography, picjumbo
are some of the best, stockxchng and others are useful as well. Free does not always mean quality though! There are also occasions
where the usual, the run of the mill, the expected do not cut it.
Illustration, having graphic content can help with any business effort. Having the right image to sit beside your message can seri-
ously help to make a point, to get that message across. Every image has semantic as well as emotive content, every picture carries
additional meaning to what is present within it pictorially. Pictures do tell stories, or at the very least help in the telling of a story.
Tastes and sensibilities develope. Things do not stay the same. What we like to look at moves on as society and its history moves
on. The pictorial content of any presentation, advert, website, social media content also has to move on as things change. You can
see some of this in the way in which website design has moved on over the years. The recent move from skeumorphism to flat and
block design is a recent case in point.
6. It can be useful, thus, to have something away from the
norm. As always it does depend on what you are trying to
achieve - the
message you are trying to get across.
You can find all sorts of graphic content, photographic and
design on the blogs:

7. design for music
Designing for a music project is the same as designing for any
product, service or event. It needs to fit:
• it needs to have the right cultural references
• it needs the right social references
• it needs to give a suitable emotional reference
• icons to fit
• palette to suit
• typography that matches and extends all that is being said
Reference, ethos, it is style that is paramount.
Saying it is one thing, saying it in the right way is the
important thing.
In the case of illustration or design for music projects displaying,
projecting,
setting the right background or landscape is the major part of
what you are about.
Design should add, entertain, contribute towards the overall sense
and meaning of a project.

9. Given current musical forms - tinges of past genres or
musical references in very much current production, it is
not surprising that references graphic and typographic
styles of the past crop up here and there. Hence we see
elements of 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond being
revisited and not so much revived as revised to suit.
