  1. Sosiaalisen media suunnittelu ei ole meidän elämästä irrallista. Pääperiaatteet on samat kuin meidän jokapäiväisessä kanssakäymisessä.
  2. Monesti auttaa kun siirrytään meille fyysísesti tuttuun ympäristöön. -Minne halutaan ihmisiä ohjata ja kuinka luoda ympäristö missä keskustella? -Missä ja miten tykkäämme kohdata muita ihmisiä? -Meillä jokaisella on omat mieltymykset ja osaamme kertoa ja kuvailla sen.
  3. Joka tapauksessa useimmiten olemme tekemässä joko liiketoimintaa tai vähintäänkin viestintää. Kuinka sosiaalinen verkkopalvelu hyödyntää meidän liiketoimintaa? >Markkinointi >Tuotekehitys >Sitouttamisen 2. aste Sosiaalinen sivusto on eri asia kuin sosiaalisen median strategia.
  4. Sosiaaliset sivustot eivät ole yksisuuntaisia. On oltava selvää mitä keskustelusta haluamme. Keitä haluamme seurata, osallistaa? Keskustelu ei myöskään herää tyhjästä. Sitä on ruokittava. (Social object)
  5. Ollaksemme rehellisiä. Meillä on tavoite. Meidän asiakkaillamme on oltava syy osallistua. Missä nämä kaksi tarvetta kohtaa ja miten?
  6. Leikitään, että meillä on liiketoiminta, joka hyötyy yhteisöllisyydestä. Meille on selvää mitä haluamme yhteisöltä. Meillä on myös tarjottavaa yhteisölle. Enää tarvitsee vain määritellä paras mahdollinen tapa luoda keskusteluympäristö, joka tukee sekä asiakkaiden ja meidän tarpeita.
  7. Ja muotoilla se siten, että se vastaa yrityksen mielikuvaa. Se on käyttäjälle houkutteleva ja helppokäyttöinen.
