CEBP Definition
Communications Enabled Business
Processes (CEBP)- is the integration of
communications capabilities into software-enabled
business procedures, applications and technologies. CEBP
enables communication between applications as well as
between applications and humans to automate many
components of business processes. The purpose is to
optimize those processes and to ensure continuous, low-
latency, real-time communications among the customers,
suppliers and employees of an enterprise.
4. See it. Hear it. Respond.
Examples of CEBP Apps
• IM an expert BOT
Microsoft employees are able to
query databases within MSFT
to find an available expert to answer
their question.
5. See it. Hear it. Respond.
Examples of CEBP Apps
Presence enabled
Web Chat - SmartChat
uses the existing Microsoft
Lync or Microsoft Office
Communications Server
presence engine to
automatically indicate if
agents are available for a
chat session. If a customer
accesses the system
outside of service hours the
site automatically updates to
send an e-mail or perform
other actions.

People in general do not like to leave an application in order to perform a routine task. CEBP lets them work within their normal business apps.
Microsoft is currently using the next two CEBP applications in order to streamline their business procedures whether it is finding information or translating that information to other countries.
