3. Landscape
Landscape photography is the art of showing different
spaces and uniqueness of the world, predominantly pure
nature. Meaning not much sign of manmade affect or
humans in general and that mostly the only editing done
to these pictures is making them grey scale or black and
white, meaning none of the actual imagery is changed,
just lack of colour.

expression, mood and
personality. Focussing on the
face in usually, sometimes
having the background and
also entire body included

7. Eve Arnold
• One of the most famous portrait
photographers.
• Especially known for her work on
Marilyn Monroe, many taken in 1960
on “The Mistfits” set
• Moving to England in the early 1960’s,
she has taken some of the most
famous photography of Queen
Elizabeth II.
• Awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement
Award’ in 1980 by the American
Society of Magazine.

8. Macro

9. Macro
Extreme close-up photography, normally very small
subjects, making said small subjects much larger than life
size, capturing a lot higher detail than regularly, so people
can see the subjects in ways they could never with the
naked eye. Not actually being magnified, the subject has a
1:1 ratio with the photo negative, making the subject on
the negative the exact same size as it is in real life.

outskirts of Bristol, working throughout the UK.
• Takes his work very seriously, investing on the
very latest camera technology medium format

since there has always been the existence of
fashionable dress, but was only just realised it could
be used to help sell clothing/accessories. Normally
used for advertisement and popular fashion
magazines, to increase sales as much as possible.

Photo journalism is the collection of news material
in the form of photos for broadcast or publication
to form a news story from the images. This is done
so the audience can clearly understand the story
because of the visual element helping them
imagine the situation.

• Noted and credited as the “father” of
photojournalism
• Best known for his work on the American Civil
War
• Born in Warren County. New York in 1822
• Opened his own studio in New York in 1844,
beginning to exhibit his own work just a year
later.
• Had many popular photographers under his
employment E.g. Alexander Gardner.
• Stayed generally in Washington, D.C as in the
