- 1. IDMAJ- Cooperation for the integration of the visibly blind and disabled.Marrakesh, Morocco
- 2. What is IDMAJ? Started in 1992, as a literacy and support center for the disabled. Based at the University of law, Marrakesh. Since 2008, a successful daily drop in program, teaching and supporting the visually impaired and the physically disabled. Beneficiaries study Braille and Computer studies. Partnership with the American Language Center and together they provide English tuition and a weekly Integration club. Staffed by volunteers. Distribution center of donated wheelchairs for the disabled. Key objective to support beneficiaries basic needs and increase their chances of finding employment. The first association of it’s kind in Morocco.
- 3. Beneficiaries Over 250 people have been helped at IDMAJ. Beneficiaries are exposed to exclusion, have special needs and have received littleor no education. Majority of visually impaired beneficiaries have lost their sight later in life.

- High achievers unescoeality all achievement not left his house travel &km leave the house beforehe small but big achievements we speak about employment we need to consider the daily successes leaving their home ,travelling 7km across the city to get to the Idmaj center changing 2 public buses not sure if you have been to marrakesh but its ducking donkeys ,criss crossing streets I like to organised mayhem after satisfied come to us hungry,not all have somewhere to sleep To be realistic before we talk about employability we must acknowledge thatThey have basic needs that aren’t being satisfied . Success can be measured by their level of confidence, their sense of belonging Success is They navigate, by themselves , 7km to get to the center.They come to us illiterate . They learn to write Braille and speak English .They leave their house …….They have purpose……Their goal is clear.Dreams and achievements
