2. Google Google Inc. is an American public corporation. It is a widely used search engine that uses text-matching techniques to find web pages that are important and relevant to a user's search . It was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. It began in 1996 as a research project at Stanford University in California. They thought that a search engine that analyzed the relationships between websites would produce better ranking of results than existing techniques.

3. Yahoo Yahoo was founded by Jerry Yang and David Filo in Santa Clara, California on March 1, 1995. The Web site started out as "Jerry and David's Guide to the World Wide Web" but eventually received a new moniker with the help of a dictionary – YAHOO! The two were Ph.D. candidates in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, started the original “guide” in a campus trailer in February 1994 as a way to keep track of their personal interests on the Internet.
