2. The World At War
- America was attacked by
Japan on 1941 when America
did nothing.
- America joined the World
War in 1944.
- America defeated the Nazis
in Germany, ending the war in
Europe on May 1945.
3. - America now focused on Japan.
- America asked Japan to surrender
on June 1945.
- Japan did not reply.
- They instead, fought till the end by
using their own people, using
kamikazes (suicide pilots) and sinking
American ships.
- America, angry, dropped an atomic
bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.
-Japan surrenders on August 14, 1945
- The bomb ended the World War.
4. The bomb on Hiroshima
was justified in many
ways. That'll be
explained next slide.
5. • It ended the World War
• It saved a lot more time
• It saved a lot more soldier's lives and a lot more money
• It was a wiser choice as Japan was fighting on their
mainland, which is more harshly defended
• Japan used suicide pilots to sink American ships and
killed both American, and Japanese soldiers.
6. • Japan used their own citizens to defend their country
and didn't care if everyone died, causing a lot more
soldier and citizen lives
• America gave Japan 1 month to surrender. Japan replied
by driving suicide pilots into American naval ships
• Japan would probably not give mercy to anyone if they
conquered the world
• Japan's loss forced them to give independence to
conquered countries like Korea and Taiwan.
7. • This side is the side where it says that America
should not drop the bomb.
• They could have do it the other way not just
dropping a bomb and killed a ton of Japanese
people.
8. • The bomb called "Little Boy" killed about 100
thousand innocent people.
• The Americans drop the bomb that killed
innocent that have nothing to do with the war.
• Maybe the Japanese might attack first, but
Japanese attack soldier. U.S killed innocent
people.
9. • There is one thing that is almost as worse as the
bomb, which is the radiation causes after the
bomb.
• This radiation can killed people through getting
into your body and slowly develop cancer. This
radiation still happens today.
10. • Another reason is that if the American
would go army against army it wouldn't kill
a lot of innocent people.
• If they didn't use the bomb it will just be
soldiers killing soldiers and it will be a fair
war.
