 Online shopping is the process whereby consumers

directly buy goods, services etc. from a seller
interactively in real-time without an intermediary
service over the Internet. If an intermediary service is
present the process is called electronic commerce.
 The process is called Business-to-Consumer [B2C]
online shopping. When a business buys from another
business it is called Business-to-Business [B2B] online
shopping. Both B2C and B2B Online shopping are
forms of e-commerce.
 In 1979 Micheal Aldrich, an English inventor connected a

processing computer via a domestic telephone line and
invented online shopping.
The first recorded B2B online shopping was Thomson

was Gateshead SIS/Tesco in 1984.
In 1990 Tim Berners-Lee created the first World Wide Web

Once a payment has been accepted the goods or services can be
delivered in the following ways.
Download: This is the method often used for digital media
products such as software, music, movies, or images.
Shipping: The product is shipped to the customer's address.
Drop shipping: The order is passed to the manufacturer or thirdparty distributor, who ships the item directly to the consumer,
bypassing the retailer's physical location to save time, money,
and space.
In-store pickup: The customer orders online, finds a local store
using locator software and picks the product up at the closest
store. This is the method often used in the bricks and clicks
business model.
In the case of buying an admission ticket one may get a code, or a

that the same right of admission is not used twice.

 Online shopping stores are available 24 hours a day.
 Searching and browsing an online catalogue can be

faster than browsing the physical store.
 In online shopping, many site provide how –to guides
to help consumers decide which product to buy.
 Some online stores have real-time chat features, but
most rely on email or phone calls to handle customer
questions.
 Consumer can easily compare between the product
prices.
 Here you find out a higher risk of fraud.
 Ensuring that the vendor address is protected with

SSL(Secure sockets layer) when entering credit card
information. If it does the address on the credit card
information entry screen will start with “HTTPS”.
 Some time while buying a product, when all process was
completed then the shipping amount never added at that
time. We paid upon the delivery. This addition fee we paid
with out any previous information.
 Privacy is much less on these web sites. Some of the fake

The transaction processing vehicle that receives
encrypted transactions from the merchant
server, authenticates the merchant, decrypts the
payment information, and transmits the data to the
authorization and settlement networks.

Merchant Accounts:
A merchant account allows you to accept all major
credit cards including MasterCard, Visa, American
Express and Discover.
 Allows you to accept

credit card payments
from customers
 Sets-up the banking
relationship to transfer
funds from your
customer’s account to
your account.
 Your Merchant account

enables you to accept
credit cards.
 Payment gateway allows
the transaction to
happen and your funds
to get deposited in your
bank account
 You must have an

Internet/MOTO account
to process online orders.
An “in-store”(POS)
account cannot be used
for online sales.

MOTO= Mail order/phone order
 It was a nice experience working on this project. It is

based on ASP.NET. It explores many features of .NET
like SQL Server, HTML, C#, etc.
 This is meant for managing details of product sold .It
provides help in maintaining records of product sold
which in turn helps the user to know which brands are
more demanded and their regular customer. This aims
at selling products, maintaining product to be sold.
The Admin module is used to store information about
products sold and the shop module is used to retrieve
information about products from database.
 THANK YOU 
