1. The Churata Berna Missionary Family
{
Serving the Lord in
Cuzco, Peru
Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
Psalm 126:5
2. This verse reminds us of what the
Lord did at the begining of our
ministry here, when we were first
starting VEN-ID Baptist Church.
We sowed with tears and today
God has allowed us to see the
harvest: many families, young
people, and children making
decisions for the Lord and
dedicating themselves to service.
3. In October, as a church we
celebrated the family. The Sunday
services were focused on worship
and teaching around the home,
how it was established by God and
how He gave principles to sustain
it. We prepared an all-church lunch
at the end of the month. Glory to
God for families.
4. We give thanks to God that the church
now supports a pastor and an assistant.
Pastor José Churata and Eugenio Pari
were ordained during a Sunday service
and are now taking over leadership
responsibilities in the church. I
continue working in the church as a
Sunday School teacher for the adult
class, overseeing the discipleship of
new believers, and preaching on
Thursday nights for the prayer service.
7. In November we welcomed Missionary
Wilber Quispe, who spoke about his
ministry in the jungle. The church is
praying and desirious to support him
and his work.
8. Our work in training church pastors
and leaders throughout the
countryside continues to bear fruit. It
is sad, however, to see so many
discouraged and disheartened pastors.
On the other hand, young people in
the Cctcca zone are coming for
training, and we pray that God will
call them to the ministry.
9.
10. There is a group of between 20-30
children in the church that come every
Saturday. We are working with them
to form a choir to praise the Lord
during a service celebrating the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to
this world. They will sing and then
receive gifts (we are asking God to
provide for those gifts).
11.
12. For two weeks I have the privilege of
counseling a young couple that will be
married on the 27th of this month. Reynaldo
and Julia are new believers that want to serve
God. Next week I’m also counseling a couple
that is going through some difficult times in
their marriage. I ask for your prayers for
them, that they will obey the will of God. On
Friday I have to travel to Desaguadero to
attend the wedding of Pastor José Huallpa
and his fiancée Yolanda. It’s such a great
blessing to serve these couples.
14. My wife and children are getting ready for
Christmas. They are anxiously awaiting their
gifts and we pray that the Lord will provide
as December is a month of many expenses.
May God bless you,
Cristobal and Celia
