2. Step one First thing when graphing is to enter your data. To do this you push STAT. this brings up three columns [L1,L2,L3]. You enter your x’s in to L1 and all your y’s in the L2 columns. You then run throw all of them and make sheer there are no extra numbers any where. That’s your first step.
3. Step two Then you need to tern a plot on. This is mostly easy. You just hit 2nd and y=. Then you just tern plot 1,2, or 3 on but only one.
4. Stage three The next thing we have to set up is the window or the area that we can see the points. To do this you push WINDOW. This brings up a list of things. What we need to do is change the numbers.
5. Stage three window X-min: make this 2 or 3 lower than your lowest x number. X-max: make this 2 or 3 higher than your largest x number. X-scl: this is what you want your x markers to go by like 2s, 5s, or 10s things like that. Y-min: all the ys are the same as the xs but just for the y numbers. Y-max: Y-scl:
6. Step four Then just hit graph. Ones you do this you need to find the vertex, and a point.
7. Stage five Now to salve the problem. The equation you us is y=a(x-h)^2+k you then get your numbers from the vertex and the point. Vertex- (H,K) point-(x,y) You then just replace the letters with the right numbers.
8. done Then you just salve it out and get your V=, and your P=. You may all so have to put the window down to.
