Steel City is a band that is competing in The Battle of the Bands competition to try and become famous. Tom's guitar breaks before the competition and he buys an old, cheap replacement that seems to possess the ghost of a former guitarist, David Ryan, who died in a car accident after a previous competition. Katherine investigates and discovers David's spirit is influencing Tom, so on the day of the competition she smashes the guitar to free Tom from the ghost's control and save him, even if it means Steel City does not win the competition.

2. •Katherine: she is Tom´s girlfriend. She works in an
electronics factory. She plays the keyboard in Steel City
•Tom: He works in a supermarket. He is the guitarist in
Steel City
•Danny: He plays the drums in the band
•Aruna: She is the bass player and the band´s singer
•Rachel: She is Katherine´s sister
•David Ryan: he is the ghost of the guitar. He used to
play in a 80´s band called Circle of Gold.
•Phil Carter: he was the bass player of Circle of Gold
•Linda Carter: she is Phil´s wife
•Mrs Webster: she is Tom´s mom

3. This story is about a girl who is in Steel
City, a music band that wants to become
very famous. For this, they worked very
hard to participate in The Battle of The
Bands.

4. In the middle, before the competion
started, Tom’s guitar broke, so he went
with Katherine to buy a new one. In the
end, Tom bought an old and dirty(but
cheap) guitar. Since then the problems
began. Tom began to behave in a
different way.

5. Katherine found his behavior very wierd
and suspicious and started to investigate
about this new guitar. Although she was
very afraid, she kept investigating about it.
She went to Linda Carter’s flat, the girl who
selled that guitar to the guitar shop owner.
Linda was Phil Carter’s wife. Phil Carter
used to be part of Circle of Gold, an 80’s
band.

6. Linda told her about David Ryan, the
guitarist of that band of 20 years ago.
She said that David was a wonderful
guitar player, he even lost his job for
practising guitar the whole day; after
the Battle of the Bands, he left very
angrily and drove very fast on that(it
was a rainy day the road was wet) and
the road was wet , so he suffered an
accident and died immediately.

7. After talking to Linda, she went to her
sister, Rachel, to ask for help. She told
her all the story and Rachel suggested
to search in the library. They found a
newspaper from 1980(it wasn’t
complete because a few years before
there was a fire) about the Battle of the
Bands from that year, there were
photos of every band.

8. They noticed that David’s appearence in
the photo was the same as Tom’s
appearence lately. They thought that the
accident would happen with Tom if they
didn’t win the competition: Tom would
die.

9. On the competition’s day, Rachel came
with Phil. Phil explained that on the
competition’s day 20 years ago, Circle of
Gold did win the competition; David
was very angry because the other
members of the band weren’t playing
well. So, to save Tom, Steel City
wouldn’t have to win neccesarily: they
had to give their best at the show.

10. Katherine was very nervous and confused, she
wanted to save Tom and she also wanted to win
the competition. At the end of the competition,
there was a tie between The Passengers and
Steel City. So it was decided that the two bands
had to play another song. Tom decided to play
the last song on his own, just like 20 years ago’s
competition. Katherine decided to forget the
competition and save Tom. She ran into the
stage, took Tom’s guitar and smashed it against
the ground again and again until it broke into
many pieces.

11. Finally, David’s ghost disappeared and
Tom was himself again. Steel City didn’t
win that day, it didn’t really matter, but
Tom was very sad, he knew that he
would never become a big star. The band
continued playing, but now, they weren’t
interested in becoming famous.
