1. The ETLab presents a series of three practical tutorials that aim to help the ETLab students, staff and faculty to familiarize themselves with the SmartBoardTM environment. The tutorials will cover how to: a.) locate; b.) download; b.) edit ; c.) create interactive multimedia activities forcourse content.

2. In this 2nd tutorial of the series, you will learn how to: Locate Download Edit Save a Smart Notebook Interactive Multimedia Activity to use in your classroom.

3. The information and screen captures in this tutorial were taken from the Smart Technologies webpage at www.smarttech.com.

4. Open the Smart Technologies Webpage: www.smarttech.com

5. Scroll down until you see this part. Click on SMART Exchange

6. You can browse activities by subject matter, but you can click here to see the satandards-correlated lessons

7. Select the State Standards, the grade and subject and click view

8. When you click to “View Lesson”, all the activities concerning that standard will be displayed. You will see a thumbnail of the first page of each activity. You can preview the activity, download it or add it to the SMART Notebook files.

9. If you decide to add it to SMART Notebook, that software will be launched automatically

10. Once you download your activity, you can open it with SMART Notebook Software and modify it to your needs and save it as a SMART Notebook file. .

11. To change your activity: Click on the part you want to change and a padlock will appear on the top right corner of that item. 2. Click on it, a menu will appear. 3. Select unlock. 4. Make the changes you want.

12. To lock it back (Recommended): Click on the arrow at the top right corner. Select “Locking” in the drop down menu. If you want to lock only the editing but preserve the object manipulation movements, select “Allow Move” or “Allow Move and Rotate”. .

13. To save your activity, click on the save icon. You can change the file name, and save it to the place of your preference.
