General Requirements and Sample Submission Guidelines: Total RNA
RNA Amount:
SABiosciences recommends that five micrograms (5 μg) of RNA be sent for each array analysis
to be performed. If submitting 5 μg is not feasible in your project, contact a SABiosciences
technical support representative.
Note: SABiosciences recommends that 10 micrograms (10 μg) of RNA be sent for miRNA
analysis.
Recommended Isolation Methods:
Cells: Extract and Purify with Qiagen RNeasy Kit (with on-column DNase treatment step, Qiagen
Cat. No. 74104) Tissues: Extract with TRIzol® from Invitrogen (Catalog Number 15596-026),
followed by purification of RNA using Qiagen RNeasy Kit with DNase treatment.
Note: DNase treatment is an essential step for the PCR Array experiment. Notify SABiosciences
if sample extraction has not included a DNase treatment step (extra charges may apply).
Dissolve in RNase-free water (or 10 mM Tris, pH 8.0) at a concentration greater than 0.5
mg/ml. Do not use DEPC treated water. Report actual concentration and A260/A280 and
A260/A230 ratios. (RNA samples requiring concentration or precipitation may require extra
service charges).
Confirmation of RNA Sample Integrity
Provide picture of ethidium-bromide stained agarose gel or analysis report from Agilent 2100
BioAnalyzer. Demonstrate sharp, intact 28S and 18S rRNA bands or peaks. Please note that an
RNA analysis surcharge may apply if RNA if of too poor quality to proceed with hybridization.
Check that your quotation includes all of the arrays and samples for your analysis project.
The use of multiple array products may require separate orders or extra charges.
Shipment: International Customers:
Ship samples on a Monday or a Friday so that they arrive at SABiosciences within Monday Friday.
Ship samples on at least 25 pounds (lbs) of dry ice in a suitable container (use at least enough
dry ice to guarantee that the samples arrive frozen – be sure that you fulfill the shipping
regulations for dry ice with your courier). Include an invoice/ packing list which describes the
contents as follows:

Provide SABiosciences with tracking information to help ensure that they arrive safely and
without delays. Email your technical support representative or support@SABiosciences.com
and provide your quote number, courier name, and tracking number. Ship the samples with a
