Holding slide while kids get settled CLICK TO START SLIDESHOW Introduction My name is Anita Reilly, and I have a dream job – I work for a company that makes video games. I’m the Victorian IEPP Coordinator for Lightmare which means I take care of all the students coming through our program. SEGUE: As well as making video games, we offer students the opportunity to complete paid work for us and at the same time, learn what goes into making some of their favourite video games.
Story of company creation – Elphie Coyle started company at 24 with some friends in a garage. He wanted to make games, but he also wanted to give young people (like yourselves) the opportunity to learn the things you’re interested in – because he didn’t have that opportunity in school. Now the company is operational in two states and has hundreds of employees.
Introducing me – I’ve been a gamer since 1983. Even though that makes me sound old, I’ve been playing since I was five. My first hand-held game – Octopus (describe). My first console – Sega Master System II. (Has anyone here ever played one?) I’ve done many roles in the interactive entertainment industry over fourteen years and I finally get to work in my dream job – in video games.

If you express interest today by putting your details on these forms, after approval from your school and your parents, all suitable candidates will be invited to attend a trial day out at the Box Hill institute. From there, if you, your parents, your school and we decide you’re right for the program, you will be invited to sign on and you’ll be involved in helping us make the next generation of amazing games.
